The cut-off percentile is derived based on the official marking scheme which mentions that four (4) marks are awarded for every correct response, while one (1) mark is deducted for each wrong attempt and no marks for unanswered questions. The other factors which help in determining the NEET MDS cutoff 2025 are below-mentioned.
Aspirants who secure equal to or more than the qualifying percentile are considered eligible for admission to MDS courses. To qualify for the NEET MDS 2025 exam, candidates belonging to the general category must secure at least the 50th percentile, while the 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC aspirants. Last year, the equivalent score to the NEET MDS cutoff for the general category was 263, while for SC/ST/OBC, it was 230. Aspirants from the general PWD category were supposed to secure the cutoff marks of 246 for the 45th percentile.
A percentile rank shows the performance of the candidate in comparison to others, while a percentage rank shows how well a candidate has performed. Percentile ranks are commonly used to clarify the interpretation of marks on standardized tests, whereas, the percentage of marks is simply calculated based on the marks obtained out of the total marks. In order to be eligible to participate in NEET MDS counselling for 50% All India Quota seats, aspirants need to secure the minimum qualifying percentile declared by NBE. Only those candidates who secure the minimum cutoff scores for 50% AIQ seats are included in the merit list.

NBE prepares the NEET MDS 2025 merit list on the basis of cut-off scores. The authority releases the merit list for All India Quota seats and the state-wise merit list. For admission to dental colleges, the rank list is prepared as listed below:
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the counselling for admission to 50% All India Quota seats, deemed and central universities/colleges. In order to be eligible for counselling, candidates must secure the minimum qualifying NEET MDS 2025 cut off as prescribed by NBE.
To participate in NEET MDS counselling, aspirants have to register themselves online by entering the required details. During the registration process, they have to fill their preferences of colleges as well as courses. On the basis of these preferences, NEET MDS rank and availability of seats, the seat allotment process is done. Once admission is granted, candidates must report at the allotted college for verification of documents and completion of admission procedure.
