FMGE Result 2017 – The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has declared the result of FMGE 2017 for December Session on January 12, 2018. It has also released the schedule of the issuance of FMGE 2017 pass certicate for qualified candidates. NBE, the exam conducting body of the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination (FMGE) holds the exam twice a year, in June and December. The exam is conducted for Indian nationals and Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) with foreign medical qualifications wishing to register themselves with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council (SMC). According to the official communication by the NBE, candidates need to score 150 out 300 marks to qualify FMGE 2017. Candidates must note that FMGE is a mandatory exam for Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs) without which they cannot practice in India. The FMGE 2017 result for the December session exam have been declared in online mode on January 12, 2018 in the form of score cards which will comprise the candidates’ details along with the marks and the rank secured.

FMGE 2017 Pass Certificate
NBE has released the schedule of distribution of pass certificate of FMGE 2017. The certificates will be issued from January 30, 2018, to February 2, 2018. Candidates who have qualified the FMGE 2017 December session exam, can click the link given below for knowing the date on which they are called for the distribution of FMGE pass certificate 2017. Candidates will be required to go to the below-mentioned address to collect their pass certificate of FMGE 2017. Candidates must note that FMGE 2017 pass certificate will be issued on In-Person to the candidates. Candidates will be required to carry following documents while going for the collection of FMGE pass certificate 2017:
- Admit Card of FMGE 2017 (with latest photograph affixed on it).
- Original Passport (except those who have obtained the primary medical qualification from Nepal).
- Original MBBS Certificate
- Original Eligibility Certificate issued by MCI
- Original and Valid Voter ID card or PAN Card or Driving License or Aadhar Card

FMGE 2017 December session exam was held on December 21, 2017. The exam was conducted in online mode and the question booklet included 150 multiple choice questions (MCQs) divided in two part papers - morning and afternoon session - taken in a single day. The candidates must note that there is no negative marking in FMGE 2017 but the weightage of MCQs may vary. The question booklet pattern was based on the MBBS programme curriculum. There is no restriction on the number of attempts the candidates can avail for the FMGE exam but they can give the test only once in each testing window.
FMGE was made mandatory in the year 2002 for all FMGs who are Indian nationals or OCIs. However, students holding undergraduate or postgraduate medical degrees from Australia/Canada/New Zealand/ United Kingdom/United States of America do not need to give the FMGE exam as they can register themselves directly with the MCI or any SMC.
