NEET MDS Result 2018 -
National Board of Examination (NBE) will declare the result of NEET MDS 2018 by January 31, 2018. NEET MDS 2018 result will be declared in online mode in the form of percentile scores of all the candidates who will appear for NEET MDS 2018 exam to be held on January 7, 2018. Candidates will be able to check their NEET MDS result 2018 and will be able to download their respective score cards by entering their Testing Ids and Date of Birth. The link to the result of NEET MDS 2018 will be made available as soon as NBE releases it. Candidates will need to secure percentile equal to or more than minimum qualifying percentile in NEET MDS 2018 result, in order to be declared qualified in NEET MDS. Minimum required percentile, as stipulated by Dental Council of India (DCI), is different for different categories. Candidates belonging to General (UR) category will be required to obtain at least 50th percentile in NEET MDS result 2018, while those belonging to SC/ST/OBC will need to score minimum of 40th percentile, in order to qualify NEET MDS entrance exam.

How to check the result of NEET MDS 2018?

NEET MDS score cards will not be sent individually to any candidate. The score card of NEET MDS 2018 can only be downloaded in online mode. Candidates can follow the steps given below to check and download their score-card cum NEET MDS 2018 result.

 

Step 1:Click on the link given below. (The link will be made available as soon as NBE declares NEET MDS result 2018).

Step 2:Enter the testing Id and date of birth to get score-card or mark-sheet of NEET MDS 2018.

Step 3: Candidates will now automatically be directed to the result of NEET MDS 2018. The result  can be downloaded by clicking on ‘Print’ and then saving it as PDF file.

 

Types of merit lists determined through NEET MDS 2018 Result

NBE is the exam conducting authority of NEET MDS and it is also responsible for the declaration of NEET MDS Result 2018. NBE releases an overall merit list of all the candidates who appear for NEET MDS exam and then further merit lists are prepared from the All India NEET MDS rank.  Following are the types of merit lists determined on the basis of the result of NEET MDS 2018 and respective authorities responsible for releasing them.

All India NEET MDS 2018 Rank

All India NEET MDS 2018 ranks will be released in the form of an all India merit list released by NBE. It will detail unique ranks of all the candidates who appeared for NEET MDS entrance exam. The ranks given will be sorted in descending order of the scores obtained by candidates in NEET MDS result 2018.

All India 50% Quota (AIQ) Overall Merit or Rank List

NBE will release an overall merit list of candidates (irrespective of their categories) who have applied for All India Quota (50%). It will give merit ranking to candidates who appeared for NEET MDS 2018 exam and are also eligible for AIQ admissions.

All India 50% Quota Category-wise Merit List

Along with overall All India Quota ranks, NBE also releases category-wise AIQ merit list for admission to various AIQ reserved categories, namely OBC, SC, ST.

4.

State or Union Territory (UT) Overall and Category-wise NEET MDS 2018 Merit Lists

Respective state/union territory’s counselling authorities release their respective merit lists using the scores of NEET MDS result 2018. Ranks given in state merit list are used for admission to respective state government and private dental colleges.

5.

AFMS Merit List

A separate merit list is released by NBE for admission to postgraduate courses in AFMS (Armed Forces Medical Sevices) institutions.

Types of Seats filled through NEET MDS 2018 Result

The result of NEET MDS 2018 is used for giving admissions on following seats:

  • All India Quota (50%) MDS Seats in Central and State/UT Government Colleges (except in J&K, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana). These admissions are conducted by DGHS, MoHFW (Directorate General Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare). 

  • State Quota MDS Seats in Government and Private Dental Colleges. These admissions are conducted by respective state or UT counsellig authorities.

  • MDS seats in AFMS institutions. These admissions are conducted by AFMS institutions.

  • MDS seats in Deemed universities. These admissions are conducted by DGHS.

Minimum Qualifying Percentile for Result of NEET MDS 2018

Candidates appearing for NEET MDS 2018 will need to score minimum required percentile score in order to be eligible for admission to MDS courses. It must be noted by the candidates that minimum required qualifying percentile might be lowered in case enough candidates fail to score required percentile score (as was done in previous year). The category-wise minimum qualifying percentile which must be scored by candidates in NEET MDS 2018 result is given in the table below:

Tie-Breaker Criteria for NEET MDS 2018 All India Merit List

In case two or more candidates obtain same marks in the result of NEET MDS 2018, then the tie between them will be resolved by considering following factors in the same order of priority:

1)      Higher Correct Responses: Candidates with more number of correct responses will be placed higher in order of merit compared to those with lesser number of correct responses.

2)      Age: In case the tie still remains between two or more candidates, then their age will be considered. Candidates older in age will be placed higher in order of merit compared to younger ones.

Highlights of NEET MDS 2018 Result

  • NBE shares the data of NEET MDS result 2018 with DGHS and respective state governments or counselling authorities, which then use NEET MDS scores to determine their merit lists and take admissions accordingly (as per their respective reservation criteria).

  • There is no option of applying for re-checking or re-evaluation of the result of NEET MDS. No query will be entertained by NBE in this regards.

  • NEET MDS 2018 result will be valid only for 2018 MDS admissions.

NEET-MDS is a single window entrance test for admission to MDS degree or diploma courses.  No institution (except AIIMS New Delhi) is permitted to conduct their own entrance examination for MDS admissions.
