Based on the result of NEET MDS 2025, shortlisted candidates are granted admission to 50% All India Quota seats, 50% state quota seats, deemed/central universities, ESIC and private universities. What is NEET MDS 2025 cutoff?
NBE releases the cutoff of NEET MDS 2025 percentile for each category. NEET MDS cutoff is the minimum qualifying percentile which must be secured to pass the entrance exam. NEET MDS qualifying percentile for general/EWS category is 50th percentile, while for SC/ST/OBC, it is 40th percentile. National Board of Examinations (NBE) releases the individual scorecards for NEET MDS 2025, 50% AIQ seats. Candidates can check the steps to download the NEET MDS scorecard below.

How to calculate NEET MDS 2025 result?
In the NEET MDS exam, candidates are required to attempt 240 objective questions. The maximum marks as mentioned in the NEET MDS result are 960 marks. As per the exam pattern of NEET MDS, there will be 25% negative marking for incorrect answers. The marking scheme used for NEET MDS result is as follows.

Based on the above marking scheme the total score of candidates is calculated and are mentioned in the NEET MDS 2025 result. The formula for calculating NEET MDS score is:
NEET MDS marks = (Number of correct answers) x 4 - (Number of incorrect answers) x 1 |
NEET MDS 2025 result - percentile vs marks
Based on the marks scored by the candidates in NEET MDS result 2025, the percentile for each candidate is calculated. The NEET MDS 2025 result includes the percentile score of each candidate. Only those who score equal to and above the minimum NEET MDS cutoff percentile qualify for the entrance test. It must be noted that the percentage and percentile of NEET MDS 2025 are completely different.
The percentile of the candidate are used for calculating the merit position of the candidate.
The NEET MDS 2025 percentile score of a candidate indicate the relative position of the candidate with respect to the other participants appearing for the test.
A candidate with 100 percentile in NEET MDS result indicate that the candidate has scored the highest marks in the examination, not full (960) marks.
A 100 percentile also indicate that 100% of candidates scored less than or equal to the candidate.
Types of NEET MDS 2025 result
Based on the NEET MDS result 2025, NBE allots different ranks to the shortlisted candidates. NEET MDS merit list 2025 mentions the ranks of candidates qualifying for the entrance exam. These ranks are the merit position secured by each candidate regarding the other candidates who appeared and qualified for the NEET MDS 2025 exam. The types of NEET MDS result 2025 are:
NEET MDS rank 2025: The NEET MDS rank is the rank secured by the candidate amongst all the candidates who appeared for the NEET MDS exam 2025. The rank is allotted on the basis of scores mentioned in the NEET MDS 2025 result.
All India 50% Quota rank 2025: Candidates who qualify for the NEET MDS 2025 exam by scoring marks equal to or above the cut off become eligible for admission. Such candidates are allotted an All India 50% Quota rank in the result of NEET MDS 2025. The merit rank is decided on the basis of marks scored by the candidate in the exam.
All India 50% Quota category rank: The All India 50% Quota category rank is allotted against the category opted by the candidate while filling the NEET MDS application form 2025. The competition in this rank is only among candidates belonging to the same category. The basis of AIQ category rank allotment is also the marks scored in the NEET MDS 2025 test.
NEET MDS result 2025: Tie-breaker criteria
In the case of two candidates having the same NEET MDS score, the rank or merit position is decided based on the below discussed four criteria.
Incorrect responses: Candidates with less number of questions answered wrong are placed higher in the NEET MDS 2025 merit list.
Higher score: A candidate who scores better marks in part B of the exam is awarded a higher rank in NEET MDS result 2025.
Wrong answers in part B: Candidate who manages to get less wrong answers in part B of the NEET MDS question paper gets a higher rank.
Age: Candidates older in age are placed higher in the NEET MDS 2025 rank list.

What after NEET MDS 2025 result?
After declaring the NEET MDS 2025 result and scorecard, the role of NBE in the process ends. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the MCC conducts the NEET MDS counselling. NEET MDS-qualified candidates are required to register themselves on MCC's official website to participate in the counselling process.
