NEET MDS 2020 result has been announced; download scorecard from January 18!
NEET MDS Result 2020 – National Board of Examinations (NBE) has released the NEET MDS 2020 result on January 15 at results.natboard.edu.in. The result has been made available in the form of NEET MDS merit list 2020 and can be downloaded from the link available below. As per NEET MDS 2020 result data, a total of 20,000 candidates appeared for the computer based test, of which only 12,128 have qualified the exam. NEET MDS qualifiers can download NEET MDS scorecard from January 18, 2020, from the link which will be available on this page, when released. NEET MDS result 2020 will display roll number, marks (out of 960) and All India ranks obtained by candidates. The competent authority has also released percentile and corresponding marks to qualify NEET MDS exam. Aspirants who have secured the specified NEET MDS cutoff 2020 are considered qualified for the counselling process. On the basis of cutoff marks released along with NEET MDS 2020 result, NBE will prepare the merit list which will include All India and category-wise rank. Also, the merit list of NEET MDS 2020 for 50% All India Quota seats. Only aspirants who will qualify NEET MDS 2020 and included in the merit list will be called for counselling process for AIQ seats. It must be noted that NBE has conducted NEET MDS 2020 on December 20, 2019. The computer based test with 240 multiple choice questions, for which only three hours was allotted. The questions asked in the exam will be from subjects taught in BDS curriculum which includes Pre-Clinical, Clinical and Para-Clinical.

The scorecard of NEET MDS 2020 can be downloaded individually from January 18 by the qualified candidates. A link to download NEET MDS 2020 score card will be provided on this page, when available. To download the NEET MDS scorecard 2020, candidates need to enter then required credentials asked. NEET MDS scorecard 2020 validity
It must be noted that NEET MDS 2020 result is valid only for the current academic session 2020 for admission to postgraduate dental courses. This result cannot be used for the next academic session.
The regulatory body has set a minimum percentile which must be secured to qualify NEET MDS 2020. The scores equivalent to NEET MDS cutoff 2020 percentile has been declared along with the result. For general category, the cutoff of NEET MDS is 50th percentile and the marks corresponding to it is 286. While for SC/ST/OBC aspirants, 40th percentile with 250 equivalent scores and for Unreserved PwD is 45th percentile, it is 268. This cutoff has been determined to prepare the merit list for admission to AIQ, state quota seats, deemed universities, central institutes, ESIC and private colleges/institutes.

Revision of NEET cutoff
If the number of candidates qualifying the exam will be three times less than the minimum qualifying percentile, the Dental Council of India (DCI) in consultation with the Central government may lower NEET MDS cutoff to fill the remaining vacant seats. Last year, the authority decided and lowered NEET MDS cutoff by 24 percentile. NEET MDS qualifying percentile for general category was declined from 50th to 25.835th percentile. While, the cutoff for SC/ST/OBC was lowered till 15.835th percentile. The table mentioned the actual and revised cutoff percentile as released by NBE for the year 2019.

Types of NEET MDS Result 2020
The result of NEET MDS 2020 to be released by NBE will be considered for admission to the following courses:
Admission to 50% All India Quota seats, and
50% State Quota seats
NEET MDS result 2020 for 50% All India Quota seats
NEET MDS 2020 result for 50% AIQ aspirants has been announced on January 20. However, securing the minimum qualifying percentile does not guarantee admission under All India Quota seat. It must be noted that NEET MDS cutoff 2020 for 50% AIQ seats is the same as the qualifying percentile. Aspirants who will secure the minimum qualifying percentile for AIQ will be called for seat allotment process by Directorate of General Sciences (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Since, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) do not participate under AIQ scheme, therefore candidates from the particular state will not be allowed to appear for AIQ counselling. While, aspirants who were allotted a seat by nomination under central pool quota by Government of India can appear for 50% All India Quota seats. The previous year NEET MDS result percentile for 50% AIQ seats has been mentioned for the convenience of aspirants.

NEET MDS Result 2020 for State Quota seats
The designated state authorities will consider the NEET MDS scores for admission to dental postgraduate courses offered by the government, private and deemed colleges/universities in the state. The merit list prepared and published by NBE will be provided to the state counselling authorities. Based on the NEET MDS 2020 result, the state authorities will prepare the merit list for the aspirants applied for admission to the dental institutes established by state governments, universities established by the act of state/union territory legislature, municipal bodies, trust, society, company and minority institutions.
NEET MDS 2020 Result – Percentile Vs Percentage
A percentile rank tells that how well a candidate performed in comparison to others while the percentage shows how well a candidate performed in the test. Percentile never gives the marks of how much an aspirant has secured, instead, it just tells the merit position among the candidates who appeared for the test. The example for the better understanding between percentile and percentage will be shown below.
Percentile rank – If the mark of a candidate is greater than or equal to 80%, then he/she will be at 80th percentile, where 8 is the percentile rank.
Percentage – An aspirant securing 75% marks in the test which is of 1000 marks, thus the marks obtained by the candidate is 750. Percentage of a candidate is never affected by the merit position of the aspirant in comparison to the other candidates.
How to download NEET MDS Merit List 2020 for 50% AIQ?

NEET MDS Merit List 2020 and Rank
All India NEET MDS merit list 2020 will be prepared on the basis of prescribed NEET MDS cut off percentile secured by candidates. The following merit lists will be prepared for admission to medical colleges.
NEET MDS rank – This merit list includes overall merit position of a candidate amongst all the candidates who have appeared for the entrance test.
All India 50% All India Quota rank – This list includes the overall merit position of aspirants amongst all the candidates who have appeared in NEET MDS 2020 and are considered eligible for 50% All India Quota counselling.
All India 50% Quota category rank – This is the overall merit position of the candidates belonging to the different reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) as opted by aspirants while filling the application form of NEET MDS 2020.
NEET MDS 2020 Merit List – Tie-Breaking Method
In case, the marks of two or more candidates will be equal, the merit position will be decided following the tie-breaking procedure mentioned below.
Number of correct responses: Candidates who have a higher number of correct responses in the entrance exam will be allotted better rank
Higher score in Part B: Aspirants with better marks in Part B of the exam will be provided higher rank.
Lesser number in Part B: Candidates who have lesser number of incorrect answers in Part B will be placed higher in the rank list.
Date of birth: If the first tie-breaker won’t be successful, the date of birth of aspirants will be taken into consideration. Candidates elder in age will be given preferences in the merit list
What after NEET MDS Result 2020?
After the announcement of the result, candidates included in the merit list of All India Quota scheme will be called for NEET MDS 2020 counselling. DGHS on behalf of MCC is responsible for conducting the counselling process for AIQ seats, deemed/central universities and ESIC. Aspirants must first register themselves to participate for counselling. The seat allotment procedure is done on the basis of All India Rank, preferences of colleges as well as courses and seats available.
