The seat allotment letter will be released after 5.00 pm on March 29, 2018. The authorities retracted the NEET MDS result 2018 of the first round of counselling published on March 28, 2018. The authorities stated that the result was cancelled due to technical issues. The last date to report at the allotted college has been extended to April 5, 2018. The seat allotment letter published along with the result of round 1 of counselling was also declared invalid.

National Board of Examinations (NBE) revised the cutoff score of NEET MDS 2018 on March 23, 2018, and also declared a revised NEET MDS scorecard. The candidates belonging to General (UR) category should now have obtained 20.265th percentile in NEET MDS result 2018 while those belonging to SC/ST/OBC are required to score minimum of 10.265th percentile in order to qualify NEET MDS. For PH category candidates, the new minimum required percentile is 15.265th percentile. Candidates can check the corresponding NEET MDS cutoff scores along with the result in the page below.

NBE first released the AIQ scorecards of NEET MDS 2018 on February 28, 2018, for candidates eligible to participate in NEET MDS 50% AIQ counselling and the same has now been revised (no change in rank). The AIQ scorecards of NEET MDS 2018 gives NEET MDS AIQ rank and NEET MDS AIQ category-specific rank to the candidates. Candidates can download their revised NEET MDS 50% AIQ rank cards from the link given on this page. NBE declared the result of NEET MDS 2018 on January 25, 2018. NEET MDS 2018 result was declared in online mode in the form of percentile scores of all the candidates who appeared for NEET MDS 2018 exam which was held on January 7, 2018. Candidates can check their NEET MDS result 2018 and download their respective score-cards by entering their Roll Number and Date of Birth in the given fields. In order to be declared qualified in NEET MDS, candidates need to secure percentile equal to or more than revised minimum qualifying percentile in NEET MDS 2018 result as specified by the NBE. The minimum required percentile is different for different categories. Earlier, candidates belonging to General (UR) category were required to obtain at least 50th percentile in NEET MDS result 2018, while those belonging to SC/ST/OBC were required to score minimum of 40th percentile in order to qualify NEET MDS. As per the February 28 notification released by the NBE about NEET MDS AIQ 50% scorecards:

  • Andhra Pradesh and Telangana candidates will be eligible to participate in counselling for NEET MDS All India 50% quota counselling as both states are participating in the NEET MDS AIQ Counselling process from this year onwards.
  • Candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, except those nominated by the Government of India under Central Pool seats for BDS, will continue to remain ineligible NEET MDS 2018 AIQ counselling.
  • The NEET MDS 2018 candidates who have obtained scores equal to or more than the cut off scores for their respective categories will be eligible to participate in NEET MDS AIQ Counselling.
  • The NEET MDS All India 50% Quota scorecards of candidates eligible for AIQ 50% counselling in NEET MDS can be downloaded from their official login accounts. Individual scorecards will not be sent to the candidates.
  • Qualification to participate in online counseling for All India 50% quota MDS Post Graduate seats does not mean that the candidates are guaranteed admission to these seats, rather that they are eligible for the counselling process.

According to the NBE, the scorecard of NEET MDS 50% All India Quota seats contains the following details:

  • All India 50% quota rank: This rank indicates the overall merit position of the candidates eligible for AIQ 50% Quota seats after applying tie-breaker.
  • All India 50% quota category rank: This rank indiciates the overal merit position of the candidates eligible for AIQ 50% Quota seats in their respective categories.

How to check NEET MDS 2018 Result?

The result of NEET MDS was first declared on January 25, 2018, before being revised on March 23, 2018. NEET MDS score cards will not be sent individually to any candidate. The score card of NEET MDS 2018 can only be downloaded in online mode from the link given on this page. Candidates can follow the steps given below to check and download their score-card cum NEET MDS 2018 result.

NEET MDS 2018 Minimum Qualifying Percentile

NBE declared the cutoff score of NEET MDS 2018 along with the result. Candidates who appeared for NEET MDS 2018 will need to score the minimum required NEET MDS percentile score in order to be eligible for admission to MDS courses as revised by the NBE on March 23, 2018. The minimum required qualifying percentile was lowered because there weren't enough candidates who scored required percentile score (as was done in the previous year). NEET MDS 2018 Result - Types of merit lists

NBE is the exam conducting authority of NEET MDS and it is also responsible for the declaration of NEET MDS Result 2018. Given below are the types of merit lists determined on the basis of the result of NEET MDS 2018 along with the respective authorities responsible for releasing them.

All India NEET MDS 2018 ranks will be released in the form of an all India merit list released by NBE. It will detail unique ranks of all the candidates who appeared for NEET MDS entrance exam. The ranks given will be sorted in descending order of the scores obtained by candidates in NEET MDS result 2018.

All India 50% Quota (AIQ) Overall Merit or Rank List

NBE will release an overall merit list of candidates (irrespective of their categories) who have applied for All India Quota (50%). It will give merit ranking to candidates who appeared for NEET MDS 2018 exam and are also eligible for AIQ admissions.

All India 50% Quota Category-wise Merit List

Along with overall All India Quota ranks, NBE also releases category-wise AIQ merit list for admission to various AIQ reserved categories, namely OBC, SC, ST.

State or Union Territory (UT) Overall and Category-wise NEET MDS 2018 Merit Lists

Respective state/union territory’s counselling authorities release their respective merit lists using the scores of NEET MDS result 2018. Ranks given in state merit list are used for admission to respective state government and private dental colleges.

AFMS Merit List

A separate merit list is released by NBE for admission to postgraduate courses in AFMS (Armed Forces Medical Sevices) institutions.

Types of Seats filled through NEET MDS 2018 Result

The result of NEET MDS 2018 is used for giving admissions on following seats:

  • All India Quota (50%) MDS Seats in Central and State/UT Government Colleges (except in J&K). These admissions are conducted by DGHS, MoHFW (Directorate General Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare). 

  • State Quota MDS Seats in Government and Private Dental Colleges. These admissions are conducted by respective state or UT counselling authorities.

  • MDS seats in AFMS institutions. These admissions are conducted by AFMS institutions.

  • MDS seats in Deemed universities. These admissions are conducted by DGHS.

NEET MDS 2018 All India Merit List Tie-Breaker Criteria

In case two or more candidates obtain same marks in the result of NEET MDS 2018, then the tie between them will be resolved by considering following factors in the same order of priority:

  1. Higher Correct Responses: Candidates with more number of correct responses will be placed higher in order of merit compared to those with lesser number of correct responses.
  2. Age: In case the tie still remains between two or more candidates, then their age will be considered. Candidates older in age will be placed higher in order of merit compared to younger ones.

Highlights of NEET MDS 2018 Result

  • NBE shares the data of NEET MDS Result 2018 with DGHS and respective state governments or counselling authorities, which then use NEET MDS scores to determine their merit lists and conduct admissions accordingly.

  • There is no option of applying for re-checking or re-evaluation of the result of NEET MDS. No query will be entertained by NBE in this regard.

  • NEET MDS 2018 result will be valid only for 2018 MDS admissions.

NEET MDS is a single window entrance test for admission to MDS degree or diploma courses. No institution, with the exception of AIIMS New Delhi, is permitted to conduct their own entrance examination for MDS admissions.
