As per the Dental Council of India Revised MDS course Regulations, 2007, in order to be eligible for admissions to any post graduate dental course in a particular academic year, it is necessary for a candidate to obtain minimum of marks at 50th percentile in NEET MDS for the said academic year. However, in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at 40th percentile. Types of NEET MDS Result 2017


The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has declared NEET MDS results for the following:

  • All India 50% quota seats for MDS courses (all states except Telangana, J&K and Andhra Pradesh)

  • State quota seats for MDS courses for all States/Union Territories of India (including the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangand and J& K)

  • MDS Diploma courses at all Private Dental Colleges, Institutions and all universities across the country

  • MDS courses at Armed Forces Medical Services Institution

Types of Merit List of NEET MDS 2017

  • All India NEET MDS 2017 rank: This will be the overall merit list for all the candidates who have appeared in the entrance exam

  • All India 50% quota rank: This will be the merit list for all candidates who have appeared for All India Quota 50% seats

  • All India 50% quota Category Rank: This merit list will be based on category of candidates such as SC/ST and OBC and will be valid for 50% All India Quota seats

  • State quota/Deemed University/ Private Dental colleges/AFMS rank: State quota rank, benefit for In-service candidates, state category rank, rural posting etc. will be determined/generated by the designated agency/authority of the concerned States/university/concerned authority

Validity of NEET MDS Result 2017:


The validity of the result of NEET MDS will only be for the current session, i.e. 2017 for MDS courses and cannot be carried forward for the next sessions of admissions.


Tie breaker criteria:


In case two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the entrance exam, their inter-se-merit will be determined according to their age. An older candidate will be given preference over the younger candidate.


Based on the cut off marks, the exam conducting authority will release a merit list for all qualified candidates.
