what exams should I attend except neet, jipmer and aiims to get admission in a govt. medical college as a medical aspirant.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019

according to latest notifications, admission to MBBS courses and other health science related courses like bams, bhms, bvsc etc  in medical colleges across the india  including JIPMER and all the AIIMS will be through the common national entrance test NEET from 2020.

so neet is the only gate way to admission in medical colleges for health science related courses.

can we apply without neet exam?

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019

NEET is the entrance examination for admission to Medical, Dental, AAyush and Veterinary Courses across India. Now NEET score is also the only score considered for admission to AIIMS and JIPMER. In few States, even courses like BPT,BOT and Nursing admissions are also cOnducted through NEET score. So if you are planning on studying any of these courses, it is not possible without NEET.

Priyaanka Sarkar Student Expert 20th Nov, 2019

We do not have 2019 data yet. Neverthless, in 2018 an All India Rank of 240859 secured a score of 265 marks and secured a seat in Tezpur Medical College under ST Plain Category. Now this is 2018 cut off and cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. So for securing a seat in this Category, you should atleast aim for 350 or more marks. This is all under State Quota.
