Will NEET Registration Date 2026 Extend: Possible Factors

Yes, NTA has extended the registration date up to March 11, 2026, giving an extension of 3 days. Some of the main factors that could lead to the extension of NEET registration date 2026 are as follows -

    • Live Photo Identity Verification Issues: NTA introduced some new changes for NEET 2026 registration. One of the major new changes is the introduction of live photo capture during the registration process. Candidates need to upload their live photo that should match the photo on their Aadhaar card. In case the payment is deducted from the candidate's bank account, it might take up to 7 days for the refund to be processed. Keeping this in mind, NTA may allow the extension of NEET application window 2026.

    • Late Announcement of BSc Nursing Admission through NEET 2026: Several states have decided that from 2026 onwards, admission to the BSc nursing programme is to be done based on the NEET 2026 marks. Many states have made late declaration in this regard, due to which several students are not aware of this and have not registered for NEET 2026 till now. To allow such candidates to appear in the exam, NTA might extend the registration window.
