MBBS admissions are subject to state policy for admission through state-wise NEET counselling. Different states have different policies regarding MBBS admissions. Some states have an open state policy that allows students from all over India to apply for seats in their government medical colleges. Most states have a closed policy that only admits students from that state to their government medical colleges. Private colleges in closed states mostly only admit students who are residents of that state, but they generally have a management quota that allows them to admit students from other states. Hello,

If you’re looking to get a seat in Khalsa College (Amritsar) for Veterinary Science through management quota. There are a few seats reserved under the management quota. These seats are usually filled at the college level and not through the centralized counselling. You will need to directly contact the college administration to inquire about availability, fees, and documents required. These seats are limited, and they are often offered on a merit basis based on your NEET score and academic background.

As you’ve scored 277 marks in NEET 2025, there’s a decent chance you could be considered for a management seat, especially if there aren’t too many higher-scoring candidates applying under this quota. Your score may not be enough for a government seat in veterinary, but for private or management quota, it can be considered.

Also, keep your documents ready like your NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, identity proof, and photos. You may also have to pay a higher fee under the management quota, so it’s best to confirm the exact amount from the college office.

If you want to know more about the college, seat intake,or fees, you can check this  page: Khalsa college of veterinary and animal science,Amritsar -Careers 360

Thank you!

Hello,
If your son is scoring around 200 marks in NEET 2025, it will be difficult to get a government MBBS seat in India, especially under the general category, since government colleges usually have much higher cutoffs, generally above 550–600 marks. But don't worry about this score, there are still some options available through the management quota in private medical colleges or deemed universities.
To get an MBBS seat under management quota, the basic eligibility is to qualify for NEET, which your son does with 200 marks. After that, you will need to:
1. Register for counselling through the state quota if you want or through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for deemed universities.
2. Apply directly to private colleges where management quota seats are available. Some colleges conduct their own counselling or have tie-ups with counselling agencies.
3. Stay updated on notifications from private universities and colleges that declare their cutoffs and fee structure for management seats.
The fees for management quota seats can be quite high, generally ranging from 10 lakhs to 25 lakhs per year, depending on the college.
Keep checking the MCC website and also explore medical colleges in states like Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh, where more private medical colleges are available. MBBS abroad is another option that accepts NEET-qualified students with lower marks. Countries like Russia, Georgia, or Kazakhstan offer MCI/NMC-recognized courses.
Thank you and all the best !

If you have scored around 200 in NEET, you may get admission in private BAMS colleges, especially in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, or Bihar during the later counselling rounds. Government colleges usually require a higher score. It's important to participate in the AYUSH counselling and keep checking the cut-offs of different colleges. Chances are better in management or paid quota seats.

With 200 marks in NEET 2025 (OBC category), government BAMS colleges are not possible, as their cutoffs are usually above 450.

You have chances in private BAMS colleges in states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, where some colleges accept scores around 200 under management quota or in later rounds.

Colleges you can consider include:

  • Nitishwar Ayurved Medical College, Muzaffarpur

  • Moti Singh Jageshwari Ayurved College, Chhapra

  • Doon Ayurvedic Medical College, Saharanpur

  • Major S.D. Singh Ayurvedic College, Farrukhabad

The NEET 2025 cutoff for BHMS admission depends on the type of college and your category.

Minimum qualifying marks in NEET 2025:
– General/EWS: Around 144 marks (50th percentile)
– OBC/SC/ST: Around 113 marks (40th percentile)

Government BHMS Colleges:
– Top government colleges require around 450 to 480+ marks
– Mid-level government colleges accept around 400 to 440 marks

Private BHMS Colleges:
– Many private colleges accept scores between 300 to 400
– Some colleges may even admit students in the 250–300 range during mop-up or management rounds
