The counselling for NEET 2019 at state level will be conducted by the various state counselling authorities on the basis of the NEET state wise rank lists. Admissions to both Government and Private colleges will be done only on the basis of the state-wise rank lists of NEET 2019 and only eligible candidates will qualify for the same. To be considered eligible, candidates will be required to qualify NEET as per the minimum category-wise percentiles and marks specified through the NEET result to be declared by June 5, 2019. Apart from this, candidates will be required to fulfill the various domicile requirements and other eligibility criteria specified by the states they are interested in applying to.

As per the practice followed by almost all the states, interested candidates will be invited to submit their NEET application forms as and when they are made available on the different state counselling authority websites. If found eligible, the candidates will be listed in the state-wise NEET 2019 rank lists which will be released after all the state application forms of NEET 2019 are processed. In the majority of states, this will be the provisional merit list and candidates who find a place in the same will be required to report for a separate document verification process after which the final state wise rank lists of NEET 2019 will be published. It is only the candidates listed in the final state wise merit lists of NEET who will be eligible for MBBS, BDS and AYUSH admissions in that particular state’s colleges.

All the separate rank lists released at the state level for NEET 2019 can be checked by candidates from the below table.

Important points on NEET state wise rank lists 2019

  • The state-level counselling of NEET 2019 will begin with the registration process conducted by the various state counselling authorities soon after the release of the NEET result.

  • Some states will first release a list of all NEET 2019 candidates who have completed their Class 12 from the state in the form of an appeared candidates’ list. This will be created on the basis of information provided to the authorities by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the MCC. The appeared candidates’ list will be published for reference purposes only and should not be confused with the state wise NEET rank list.

  • After all the interested candidates have registered and submitted their application form for state-level NEET admissions within the specified dates, a provisional NEET state wise rank/merit list of all the candidates found eligible among these will be released.

  • The candidates whose names appear in the provisional state-wise rank list of NEET 2019 will be required to appear for a document verification process, usually conducted in offline mode at a venue specified by the concerned state counselling authority.

  • Following the document verification of all candidates who report within the given timeline, a final NEET 2019 state wise rank list will be published on the basis of which the counselling for state quota seats in the Government medical and dental colleges and for all seats in the state’s private medical and dental colleges will be conducted.

  • Some states like Tamil Nadu will release separate state rank lists of NEET 2019 for Government college seats and for Private college seats on the basis of which the respective admissions will be carried out.

  • In some cases, separate NEET 2019 state wise rank lists may also be released before each counselling round is held in a particular state.

  • Institutions like AFMC Pune for which the counselling is conducted separately and not under any state counselling authorities will release NEET 2019 college wise rank lists. Central Universities like Delhi University (DU), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) may also have separate rank lists released by the MCC which will be responsible for conducting their admissions in NEET 2019.
