The NEET UG is the single largest medical entrance examination in India. Every year, thousands of aspirants register for this examination to pursue undergraduate medical courses (MBBS, BDS, and other allied courses) in various medical colleges across the country. For NEET 2025, candidates need to follow specific guidelines for registration, especially when it comes to the use of Aadhaar. The NEET UG registration has started and NTA has issued Aadhaar guidelines regarding the NEET 2025 registrations urging candidates to update their Aadhaar details to ensure the smooth conduct of the verification and registration process. Read the full article to know comprehensive details about the NEET 2025 registration Aadhaar guidelines.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), which is responsible for conducting the NEET UG exam, mandates the use of Aadhaar as an essential part of the registration process. Aadhaar helps to maintain transparency, avoid duplication, and ensure that the candidate's identity is verified securely and no other person can impersonate anyone during the NEET exam day.
NTA in its notice has released guidelines for APAAR ID and Aadhaar card to ease the NEET registration process. Although NTA has clarified that APAAR ID for NEET 2025 is not mandatory, it has advised that students should complete NEET 2025 AADHAAR integration before the registration process starts. Some of the NTA guidelines for students regarding the NEET 2025 registration are as follows -
As per the NTA’s instructions, all candidates applying for NEET 2025 should have a valid Aadhaar card. The Aadhaar card is mandatory for both Indian and NRI candidates applying for the NEET 2025 exam.
Foreign candidates who do not possess an Aadhaar card are exempted from this rule provided that they submit another government-authorised identity proof such as a passport and other documents.
During the NEET 2025 registration process, candidates must provide their Aadhaar number as part of their application details.
The Aadhaar number must be valid and not outdated. In case a candidate does not have an Aadhaar number, they should apply for one before attempting to register for NEET 2025.
The details entered by the candidates during the NEET registration process, such as their name, date of birth, gender, and address, must exactly match the information available on their Aadhaar card. If there is a mismatch between the Aadhaar details and the registration form, the candidate may face issues during the verification process, and their application could be rejected.
In cases where corrections are required in the Aadhaar data, candidates should address the issue through the respective Aadhaar enrollment centres before registering for NEET 2025.
Candidates might be asked to undergo fingerprint or iris authentication as a method of identity verification based on their Aadhaar details. The NTA uses biometric verification to prevent fraudulent activities and ensure the authenticity of candidates during the exam day at the NEET exam centres.
The candidates must provide a clear, readable image of their Aadhaar card during the NEET 2025 registration process.
The document submitted should be of good quality, with no blurred text or images. If the Aadhaar card is not readable, the NTA may reject the application form.
If a candidate has updated their Aadhaar details or received a new Aadhaar card after registration, they should ensure their NEET application form reflects the updated information.

It is recommended to complete this update well in advance of the NEET 2025 registration deadline to avoid any last-minute complications.
