No! The APAAR ID NEET 2025 is not mandatory. NTA in its notice dated January 24, 2025 has stated that it is not mandatory to have an APAAR ID for NEET 2025 registration and has declared the NEET UG 2025 APAAR ID as optional. However, NTA has insisted that using an APAAR ID for NEET 2025 registrations will help the applicants make the process smooth.
NEET UG exam has remained a part of several controversies since its inception due to various cases of impersonation and cheating. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has implemented the NEET 2025 AADHAAR integration under the directives from the Ministry of Education, aimed at improving the transparency and security of the examination process. Below are the main reasons behind this initiative -
One of the primary challenges in conducting large-scale entrance examinations like NEET UG is ensuring that the candidates appearing for the exam are who they claim to be. The APAAR ID will help the NTA verify the identity of applicants more efficiently, reducing the risk of impersonation and fraud during the examination process.
The use of a single, Aadhaar-linked ID will make the registration process easy for candidates. Instead of needing to input multiple identification details, candidates can use their APAAR ID for quick authentication. This ensures that the personal details entered are accurate and verified at the time of registration.
The APAAR ID will help prevent candidates from doing NEET UG 2025 registration multiple times for the same exam under different names. This is an important step to stop cheating and make sure that only eligible candidates are taking NEET 2025.
Aadhaar is a reliable identification system supported by the government, offering strong data protection features. By connecting NEET 2025 registrations to Aadhaar, the NTA seeks to ensure the privacy and security of candidates' personal information.
Although NTA has made clear that the NEET APAAR ID is not mandatory for NEET 2025 registration however, many candidates must be wondering, “How do I create an APAAR ID for NEET 2025 registration?” Since the APAAR ID is linked to Aadhaar, the first step for candidates who wish to apply for NEET 2025 is to ensure that they have an Aadhaar number. Candidates who already possess an Aadhaar number can simply follow the below-mentioned steps.
Verification: Visit the school from where they have completed their class 12 or equivalent education to verify demographic details
Parental Consent: Obtain parental consent if the student is under the age of 18 years
Authentication: The school will authenticate the identity of the student
ID Creation: Upon successful verification, the APAAR ID is created and added to DigiLocker for secure online access
The following details are required to generate an APAAR ID for the registration process of NEET 2025.
Unique student identifier (PEN of student)
Date of birth
Gender
Mobile number
Mother’s name
Father’s name
Name as per Aadhaar
Aadhaar number
The introduction of the APAAR ID will bring several benefits to NEET 2025 candidates:
Linking the APAAR ID with the Aadhaar minimises the possibility of errors in personal details, as the information will be directly pulled from the Aadhaar database.
With identity verification tied to a unique number, the NEET examination process becomes more transparent. This ensures that only legitimate candidates participate in the exam, increasing transparency and fairness.
Having a single unique identifier to use for all educational purposes - including the NEET exam, simplifies the journey for students, reducing confusion and providing easy access to government services related to education.

Hello aspirant,
You cannot rely only on NEET preparation to clear TS EAPCET . NEET covers Physics and Chemistry deeply but TS EAPCET also includes Intermediate IPE syllabus strictly , with questions directly based on textbooks concepts and formulas. Biology is needed for NEET , while EAPCET needs strong Maths for engineering streams. If you plan to attempt both , prepare NEET concepts thoroughly and separately revise IPE-LEVEL Maths, Physics, Chemistry for EAPCET , along with previous year papers.

Hello aspirant,
This kind of name order difference between your Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar is quite common and usually does not cause serious issues for NEET 2026 . While filling the NEET form, always enter your name exactly as it appears on the Class 10 marksheet, since it is the main reference document. During counselling, if asked, you can explain the difference and keep a simple affidavit or supporting ID ready to confirm both names belong to you.
Hope the details will help you.
THANK YOU
