About CNET 2026

The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, ABVMU Lucknow conducts the state-level ABVMU BSc Nursing common entrance exam, known as CNET for its 4-year B.Sc Nursing program. The entrance is conducted for admissions to 11610 CNET B.Sc nursing seats in nursing colleges affiliated to ABVMU Lucknow, SGPGIMS Lucknow, KGMU Lucknow, RMLIMS Lucknow, UPUMS Saifai, LLRM Meerut and all government and private deemed universities of Uttar Pradesh. 

The authority will release the application form for CNET 2026 on the official website. The CNET application form window for 2026 will be opened for a stipulated time period. Those who will submit the application form will be issued the CNET 2026 admit cards. The CNET 2026 exam will be conducted in the English language in pen and paper mode in an OMR sheet and consists of 120 MCQS. The total marks in UP CNET are 120. According to the CNET 2026 exam pattern, the duration is 2 hours and 20 minutes, and there is no negative marking. After the conclusion of the exam, the CNET 2026 result will be declared by the conducting authority. Qualified students are invited to the CNET 2026 counselling.

After the CNET result declaration, the conducting body will release the first merit list of the aspirants qualified in the test with common merit rank. The candidates will have to pay Rs.500 as the counselling registration fee and Rs.5000 (refundable if not allotted a seat) as the counselling security fee through the online mode. Students failing to do so will not be considered in the counselling process. 

The candidate will have to pay a seat confirmation fee of Rs 40,000 through online or a bank challan. This amount will be adjusted against the tuition fee, once the counselling process is over. 

Steps for CNET 2026 counselling and seat allocation

  • Candidates will have to register for the CNET 2026 counselling by payment of Rs.500 as the counselling registration fee and Rs.5000 as the security fee. 

  • The admission cell will allot the seats from the candidate’s preferred institute based on the common merit rank and respective category rank.

  • Check the allotted seat on the website, and lock/confirm the allocation by paying Rs 40,000, it is not possible to change the choice in particular counselling after locking the seat after completion of payment. 

  • Seats will be allotted as per the rank in the 1st round of counselling. A candidate who is allotted a seat shall be admitted provisionally, he/she should report to the selected institute for document verification. Without a valid document or insufficient document or mismatch the seat will be cancelled.

  • Once documents are verified, he/she shall be offered provisional admission & must pay the balance prescribed fee online within the stipulated period. If the candidate is unwilling or fails to pay the balance admission fee within a specified period as mentioned by the authority, seats will be marked as Vacant & Seat booking fee will be forfeited.

  • After the payment of the admission fee, the candidate will be granted admission. 

A total of 2 rounds of counselling will be conducted to fill up the seats and will be followed by an online/offline on-campus mop-up round. After the completion of round 1 of the counselling, the candidate will be eligible for seat upgrade/reshuffle in round 2 counselling. If any candidate reshuffles their existing seat and gets a new upgraded seat in round 2, his/her round 1 allotted seat will be automatically cancelled.

  • The candidate should be a domicile of Uttar Pradesh and should fall in the age bracket of 17 - 35 years as on or before December 31, 2026. 

  • The candidate should have passed the 10 + 2 or its equivalent from a recognised board with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology with English as a compulsory subject. 


CNET 2026 reservation 

Reservation in the ABVMU BSc nursing program is given for the sanctioned seats by the Indian Nursing Council as per the state government reservation policy. A 5% horizontal reservation is given to the physically handicapped candidates, and an EWS quota of 10% may be admissible as per the directives of the UP government.

The steps to fill up the application form of CNET 2026 are as follows:

  • Go to the official website abvmuup.edu.in and click on the link for CNET 2026
  • Click on the “Register” button and fill in all the details asked in it such as - the candidate's name, parental details, date of birth, age, gender, a valid email address and a valid mobile number.  
  • Upon successful registration, aspirants will receive the registration ID number on the registered email address and phone number. 
  • Login using the registration ID and DOB to successfully log into the “CNET 2026 Applicant Dashboard”.
  • Click on the “Pay fee for B.Sc Nursing” button and pay the application fee in online mode via debit or credit card, net banking or UPI. Once the payment is confirmed, click on the “Fill form” button. 
  • The personal information mentioned in the registration form will be auto-filled in the application form. 
  • Enter the permanent and communication address.
  • Enter the educational qualification details such as 10th and 12th standard.
  • Choose any 3 exam centres as per preference and click on submit.
  • Upload a digital photo, signature and the verification form in the prescribed format. The verification form will be available on the “Applicant dashboard” and should have been duly filled before uploading it. 
  • Enter the bank account details and click on the “Confirm & Preview” button to go to the final submission form.
  • Check all the details mentioned in the application form carefully and then click on the “Final Submit” button.

Photo upload guidelines: The uploaded photograph should be in a white background and in JPG format only. The size should be between 50 - 200 kb with a dimension of 4.5 cm * 3.5 cm.

Signature guidelines: The signature should be in white background in JPG format only and the size should be between 50 - 200 Kb. 

Note: There is no correction window available and hence the students are advised to fill out the application form carefully. After the successful submission, a confirmation email will be sent to the registered email ID.

The admit card for CNET 2026 releases on the official website for the registered candidates. Carrying the CNET 2026 hall tickets at the exam centre is mandatory to be allowed to sit for the test. 

How to download the CNET 2026 admit card?
