The National Testing Agency has established the NEET Total Marks 2025 to 720. These NEET total marks are distributed as follows: 360 marks allocated to Biology, 180 marks designated for Physics, and another 180 marks for Chemistry. NTA specifies the NEET exam pass mark that a student must obtain to qualify for the NEET UG exam.

Passing marks in NEET out of 720

The passing marks in NEET out of 720 for general category candidates is 50th percentile. While for SC/ST/OBC and general-PH aspirants, the NEET qualifying marks are 40th and 45th percentile, respectively. As per the previous year's cutoff, the NEET passing marks for the general category were 720-137, while NEET exam pass marks for OBC/ST/SC were 136-107. Aspirants must note that the category-wise NEET exam total marks and pass mark are released along with the result.

The passing marks in the NEET UG exam are simply the cutoff of NEET UG. The NEET exam passing marks for 2025 will be available after the NTA declares the result. The NEET cut-off 2024 for the general category was 720-162, for SC/ST/OBC category, the cutoff is 161-127, for the general- PH category it is 161-144, for the SC/OBC- PH it is 143-127, and for ST PH it is 142-127.

Class 12 aspirants must secure the NEET qualifying marks to be eligible for the further admission process. Candidates can check the NEET pass mark 2025 required to qualify in the test from the below-listed points.

  • The NEET qualifying marks for General category candidates is 50% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in Class 12 or equivalent exam

Total marks in NEET

The total marks in NEET UG exam is 720. While preparing for the medical entrance test aspirants should know the NEET 2025 paper pattern. Candidates, while going through the NEET paper pattern 2025 should understand the structure of the medical entrance test. It must be noted that the NEET question paper comprises 200 questions (180 need to be attempted) and each correct question has a weightage of 4 marks which means the NEET full marks 2024 are 720. The NEET 2025 exam paper is divided into three sections i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

The total number of questions in NEET Biology is different whereas, the number of questions in Physics and Chemistry is the same. NEET Chemistry and Physics comprises 50 questions (45 need to be attempted) which means the NEET 2025 total marks for Physics and Chemistry are 180 marks. The question paper of NEET 2025 for Biology consists of 100 questions (90 need to be attempted) and has 360 marks which will be half of the total questions asked. The application process for NEET 2025 is expected to begin in the first week of February 2025 , based on current trends and prior years' schedules. The deadline for submitting the application form is tentatively in March 2025 , with a correction window available in the second week of March 2025 . The NEET UG 2025 exam is tentatively scheduled for the first week of May 2025 .
