Maharashtra state counselling NEET UG 2024 process

The NTA NEET 2024 exam must be passed by candidates who wish to secure a place through Maharashtra MBBS counselling. Candidates will only be eligible to attend the counselling if they are included on the Maharashtra NEET state merit list. Below is a step-by-step guide to NEET Maharashtra counselling 2024.

Registrations for Maharashtra state counselling

Candidates must complete the Maharashtra NEET UG registration to participate in the counselling process. When candidates fill out the application form, they will be assigned login credentials - a username and a password. Candidates can fill out their course and college choices using these credentials during Maharashtra MBBS 2024 counselling.

Maharashtra MBBS counselling college code

Candidates must choose the appropriate code for Maharashtra NEET counselling 2024 to fill out the course and college choices. The Maharashtra MBBS counselling code will include four numbers and the alphabet S or N. The S suffix in the college code represents the state quota, and the N suffix represents the NRI quota. Thus, candidates must fill out their college code carefully during Maharashtra MBBS/BDS counselling according to the seat quota they wish to apply to. There will be a minimum of one choice for Maharashtra NEET 2024 counselling.

mahacet NEET UG 2024 choice filling and locking

Before filling out the choices for Maharashtra MBBS 2024 counselling, candidates should carefully review their choices. To lock their choices for Maharashtra MBBS/BDS counselling, students must click on the 'submit' option after filling out the choices. Maharashtra MBBS 2024 counselling does not limit the number of choices candidates can make, so it is recommended to make as many choices as possible. Candidates have only one opportunity to fill out their choices during Maharashtra NEET counselling. In this regard, candidates should be careful when filling out their preferences for courses and colleges.

Maharashtra State Medical Counselling seat allocation

According to candidate preferences, NEET 2024 result, state merit rank, reservation criteria, eligibility conditions, and availability of seats, the authority will release the Maharashtra MBBS/BDS seat allotment list 2024. The seat allocation list will be published on the State CET Cell Maharashtra website. Candidates who have been shortlisted for Maharashtra MBBS counselling may experience any one of the four scenarios below.

Situation 1:

  • After Maharashtra NEET 2024 counselling, if the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted to them and does not wish to participate in any further rounds of counselling.
  • In this case, candidates must download their admission letter and report to the institute they are allotted for Maharashtra MBBS admission.
  • Additionally, such candidates must submit a status retention form by the deadline set by State CET Cell Maharashtra.

Situation 2:

  • Applicants who are satisfied with their seat allocation during Maharashtra MBBS/BDS counselling round one and would like to upgrade it during the next round.
  • In such cases, candidates must also download their admission letters and report to the college they have been assigned. If the seat is upgraded in the second round of Maharashtra MBBS 2024 counselling, the last allocated seat will be cancelled.

Situation 3:

  • If a candidate does not wish to join the allotted seat in the first round of counselling, or if they want to cancel their admission after Maharashtra MBBS counselling 2024 round one.
  • They will not be eligible for either the CAP round or the mop-up round of Maharashtra state NEET UG counselling.

Situation 4:

  • If a candidate does not want to accept Maharashtra NEET 2024 admission or participate in subsequent rounds of counselling.

Document verification for mht cet counselling 2024

After receiving a seat in Maharashtra NEET counselling 2024, candidates will undergo document verification at the medical/dental colleges they have been assigned. The documents required for NEET counselling in Maharashtra are mentioned below.

  • Copy of Maharashtra MBBS application form
  • NEET 2024 result
  • Nationality certificate/Indian Passport
  • Domicile certificate
  • Higher secondary school certificate
  • Secondary school certificate
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Medical fitness certificate
  • PwD certificate, if required
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
  • Non-creamy layer certificate, if asked
  • Any other certificate/document asked by the authority

Maharashtra NEET UG admission fee payment

Candidates must pay the course fee after completing document verification during Maharashtra MBBS/BDS college reporting. Payments can be made by demand draft from a nationalised bank or scheduled bank in the name of the Dean or Principal. The Maharashtra MBBS admission fee for government colleges is mentioned below.
