DME, Tamil Nadu is responsible for conducting Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS counselling for 85% state quota and 100% private colleges seats. Admission to 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats is granted through NEET counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). It must be noted that only candidates who qualify the NEET exam are eligible for admission through Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS counselling. Candidates who secures the NEET cut off and fill the online Tamil Nadu NEET application form are included in the Tamil Nadu MBBS merit list 2026.

Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling Procedure 2026

• Pay the counselling fee of Rs 500 for government colleges and Rs. 1,000 for self financing colleges via demand draft in favour of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai-10”
• Download the call letter for Tamil Nadu NEET counselling from the link which will be provided here. Candidates will have to enter their application number and DOB to download the counselling call letter.
• The call letter will mention the date and time for counselling of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2026.
• Report to the counselling venue as per the schedule.
• Ensure you carry all the required documents for counselling of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2026.
• During Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 counselling candidates will be asked to submit the choices of courses and colleges.
• Candidates can submit as many choices as they wish.

• Based on the choices filled by candidates, reservation, state merit rank, NEET 2026 marks, and other factors authority conducts the seat allotment of Tamil Nadu MBBS 2026.
• The Tamil Nadu seat allotment list is published on the Tamil Nadu NEET counselling official website - tnmedicalselection.net.
• The Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS 2026 seat allotment list mentions the name of the medical/dental colleges allotted, rank, candidates details, total marks, and community.
• Candidates who are allotted seats are granted a provisional allotment order for Tamil Nadu MBBS admission.
• Shortlisted candidates need to report to the allotted institute for reserving Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 admission.

• Class X Mark Sheet (both sides of Certificate).
• Class XI Mark Sheet (both sides of Certificate)

• Transfer certificate obtained after the completion of H.S.C. or equivalent courses
• Certificate for proof of study from VI Std. to XII Std. for the candidates who have studied completely in Tamil Nadu
• Community Certificate

• Income Certificate of parent for the candidates claiming fee exemption

Tamil Nadu NEET counselling rounds

• Two rounds of Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 counselling, followed by a mop-up round and a stray vacancy round is conducted.
• Candidates who do not report for the first/second round of counselling are not be eligible to participate in the next round of Tamil Nadu MBBS counselling 2026.
• Candidates who don't join the allotted seat are not eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of Tamil Nadu MBBS/BDS 2026 counselling.
• During the second round of Tamil Nadu MBBS counselling, students have to pay a processing fee of Rs 500/1000 for government/self financing colleges.
• Candidates who are wait-listed or allotted seats during round one are not required to pay any fee during round two of Tamil Nadu MBBS counselling 2026.
• All candidates who either join or are wait-listed in the first and second round of counselling can participate in the Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 counselling mop-up round.
