West Bengal NEET MBBS Counselling 2018 – Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kolkata is the conducting body of West Bengal NEET MBBS 2018 counselling. The result second round of counselling for West Bengal MBBS 2018 has been released. The second round of West Bengal MBBS 2018 counselling started from August 2, 2018 (12.00 pm) where candidates can enroll themselves and pay the enrollment fee. Candidates who had earlier registered for the first round of WB MBBS couselling 2018 need not register again. The schedule for counselling of West Bengal MBBS 2018 for the second round has been revised due to the extension of the dates for filling up of the All India Quota seats and starts on August 10, 2018. West Bengal MBBS 2018 counselling had started on June 29 and was conducted until July 3, 2018. The counselling of West Bengal MBBS 2018 was conducted in online mode which implies that the candidates were required to submit their choice of course and colleges online. The result of the first round of seat allotment has been published on July 4, 2018. Candidates were required to report to the allotted colleges by July 12, after the first round of West Bengal MBBS counselling 2018, failing which they will not be considered for further counselling processes and subsequent admissions.

The candidates whose names had been included in the merit list were eligible to appear in the choice filling and choice locking session of West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2018. The candidates have the option to choose the seats available in 21 medical and dental colleges located in the state of West Bengal. This includes Government and Private colleges located in the state of West Bengal. Highlights of West Bengal MBBS BDS 2018 Counselling
  • West Bengal MBBS 2018 counselling is conducted in online mode.

  • The authorities have published eligible candidates lists and the candidates whose name are displayed in the list are eligible to appear in West Bengal MBBS counselling 2018.

  • To become eligible for the inclusion in the Eligible candidate list, the candidate must have secured minimum required percentile in NEET 2018 and should be a domicile of West Bengal state.

  • The candidates who are eligible were required to register again for West Bengal MBBS 2018 counselling.

  • The admissions are taken on the merit-cum-preference basis, so the candidates are advised to choose the Institutes according to their NEET 2018 score.

  • There will be two rounds of online counselling and if the seats still remain vacant then a manual counselling round will be conducted.

  • The manual counselling will be conducted in offline mode at R G Kar Medical College, Kolkata.

West Bengal MBBS BDS 2018 Counselling - Procedure

Registration

The candidates have to click on the “New Registration” menu. The window where candidates were logging in while filling the application form will be displayed. The candidates are required to click on “New User Registration After Payment” option. The registration page will appear on the screen where candidates will be required to enter their Roll No., Application No., Transaction ID, Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth and Security Pin. After filling the correct details, click on “submit” button.

Declaration

In the next step, declaration page will be displayed on the screen wherein the candidates have to choose “I, Agree” if they want to participate in West Bengal MBBS 2018 counselling process. The declaration states that the admission seeker is agreeing to the terms and conditions of West Bengal MBBS 2018 admission process.

Additional Information

The candidates have to choose a security question and submit an answer to it. This question and answer should be remembered by the candidates as it will be helpful if, in case, they forget their password. After filling all the details, the candidates will be required to choose a password which must satisfy the following conditions-

  • Password should be 8 to 13 characters long.

  • Password must have at least one Uppercase alphabet

  • Password must have at least one Lowercase alphabet

  • Password must have at least one numeric value

  • Password must have at least one special character ([email protected]#$%^)

The candidates can now click on “Confirm Registration” to complete the registration process.

 

Login

After successful registration, the candidates are redirected to the login page where they have to submit login with their Roll No. and Password. The candidates’ details are displayed on the screen.

Choice Filling

The candidates then are required to choose between MBBS and BDS course. A list of colleges for the respective course is displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. The candidates who are not a domicile of West Bengal state are eligible for private management quota seats only. These candidates can only have colleges offering seats under Private management quota on their list. The candidates can choose a particular college according to their preference and that college is moved to the candidate’s list on the left-hand side of the screen. After choosing a college, click on “Save and Continue”. The candidates can choose any number of colleges on their list. The choices can be interchanged, moved downwards or upwards and deleted.

Choice Locking

Before the submission of choices, the candidates must click on “I agree to lock my choices” button to confirm their choices which implies that they cannot modify their choices afterwards. To successfully lock the choices, the candidate must enter their password  and click on “lock my choices.” The candidates who will not lock their choices within the given time, then the system locks their saved choices automatically.

Documents Required for West Bengal MBBS BDS Admission 2018

The candidates who will get admission through West Bengal MBBS counselling 2018 must report at the allotted institute with the following documents-

  • NEET UG admit card

  • NEET UG scorecard

  • Class 10 pass certificate

  • Class 12 pass certificate

  • Class 12 mark sheet

  • Provisional allotment letter provided during West Bengal MBBS 2018 counselling session.

  • Valid ID proof. (School or College ID card/Voter ID card/Aadhar card/Passport)

  • Medical Certificate from Registered Medical Allopathic Practitioners

  • Verification Slip generated during the pre-counselling phase.

  • Final Verification Slip generated after the document verification session.

  • SC/ST/OBC A/OBC B certificate issued by the competent authority located in West Bengal

  • Orthopaedic Physical Disability Certificate issued by a medical board of IPGMER Kolkata. No other PH certificate will be entertained by the authorities.

West Bengal MBBS BDS 2018 Seat Allotment

The result of the second round of West Bengal MBBS seat allotment has been released. The result of the first round of seat allotment of West Bengal MBBS BDS was released on July 5, 2018. The seat allotment list includes the candidates' names, category, and the college/course they have been allotted based on their preferences and the NEET UG score. The candidates who have been allotted seats are required to generate the seat allotment letter and report to the reporting centres with the required documents.
