HP MBBS Application Form HP MBBS Application Form 2017- The Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Himachal Pradesh, had invited application forms from all eligible and qualified candidates of NEET 2017 for MBBS and BDS seats in medical colleges of the state. The application process for HP MBBS 2017 had been supervised by the Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research. Candidates seeking admissions to the Government or private medical colleges of Himachal Pradesh could ahve done so in online mode from June 30 onwards. The last date by which candidates could have been able to submit the HP MBBS Application Form was July 10.

Candidates who do not qualify the NEET 2017 exam as per the NEET 2017 Cut Off or fail to apply online withing the prescribed period would not be eligible for admissions. The Himachal Pradesh University had released the category-wise merit list on the basis of which candidates would be able to confirm their admission status. Following the submission of application forms and publication of merit list, HP University would also release the counselling schedule for HP MBBS Admissions 2017. Last year, admissions to medical colleges in Himachal Pradesh took place through AIPMT 2016, before being replaced by NEET, a single window national level medical entrance examination which will determine medical and dental admissions in India from 2017-18 onwards.

Eligibility Criteria for HP MBBS Application Form 2017


Only those candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria laid down by the Himachal Pradesh University on behalf of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research, Government of Himachal Pradesh, will be considered for admissions to MBBS and BDS seats in the Government and Private Medical Colleges of Himachal Pradesh through HP MBBS 2017. Candidates should ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before filling HP MBBS Application Form 2017.


The main eligibility criteria that candidates applying for admissions to the 85% state quota seats in MBBS and BDS courses in the colleges of Himachal Pradesh are as given below.

  • Candidates should be wards of Bonafide Himachali Domicile individuals or employees of autonomous bodies wholly or partly financed by the Himachal Pradesh Government.

  • They must have compulsorily cleared two of the following four examinations from recorgnized schools or colleges in HP -

    1. Middle School or Equivalent

    2. Matriculation or Equivalent

    3. 10+1 or Equivalent

    4. 10+2 or Equivalent

  • There will be no domicile or schooling conditions for candidates applying for Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided Medical and Dental Colleges and only merit in NEET 2017 Result will be considered.

  • Candidates must have cleared their final school examination in the 10+2 system with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Bio-technology with Mathematics or any other elective subject with English. Candidates who have cleared their B. Sc. Examination from an Indian University with atleast two out of Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology) or Bio-technology as subjects, after having already cleared their Higher Secondary examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are also eligible.

  • All candidates must be 17 years or older at the time of admission to first year MBBS or BDS course through HP MBBS Application Form 2017.

Documents required for HP MBBS Application Form 2017


Candidates should ensure they have an accesible personal email ID and mobile phone number  along with scanned copies of the following documents before filling the Application Form of HP MBBS 2017 in online mode:

  • Passport photo in .jpg or .jpeg format and not greater than 10 kb in size.

  • Signature with black ink on white paper and not greater than 100 kb in size.

  • NEET 2017 Result Card in PDF Format and not greater than 2 mb in size.

 Steps to fill HP MBBS Application Form 2017


Candidates will be required to visit the link given on this page above to start the submission process for HP MBBS Application Form 2017. Out of the given three options, they must click on the one marked ‘MBBS/BDS’.

  1. Clicking on the ‘MBBS/BDS’ option will open a pop-up window in which candidates will be required to accept the terms and conditions, following which the Online Application Form will open.

  2. There will be five pages candidates will be required to fill in the HP MBBS Online Application Form 2017. These will be (in order of filling):

  1. The Personal Information page will contain personal fields such as candidate’s parents’ names, address and High School Mark Sheet Number along with NEET related fields such as Roll Number, Marks, All India Merit Rank and All India Quota Merit Rank among others. They will also be asked to choose their category from a drop-down window which will determine fee amount they will need to pay in the ‘Payment’ page later.

  2. After filling all fields and clicking the ‘Submit’ button, candidates will receive a unique registration ID and Password in their given email address and mobile number which they can use to login once again from the ‘Click here for Student login’ tab from the same link given above.

  3. Candidates can now fill their education details and upload the required documents on the ‘Education and Document Details’ page of the form. They can lick on ‘Save and Continue’ button to proceed to payment.

  4. On the ‘Payment’ page, candidates should click on the ‘Make Payment’ button.

  5. They may choose their payment gateway between HDFC Bank and H.P.State Co-operative Bank and from among the given payment options like Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, etc. The fee charged will be dependent on their category as was selected and displayed in the ‘Personal Information’ page.

  6. Once the payment transaction is complete, candidates will receive a message after which they can select the ‘Click here to go to Final Submit Page’ button.

  7. Candidates will be able to check the HP MBBS Application Form one final time before submitting by clicking on ‘Submit Application Form’ button.

  8. Candidates will be able to generate the printout of the submitted application form and they must carry the same along with the mandatory documents at the time of HP MBBS 2017 Counselling.

You have decent chances to get seat in Govt colleges under state quota. So you can try for the same.

You have less chances to get seat in state and AIQ in MBBS/BDS course. But if you want you can try for private colleges in paramedical and ayush courses.

Considering you belong to general category so the chances are less to get seat under state and AIQ but I would suggest you to try for the same along with private colleges.
