HP MBBS Admission 2018 – 
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), Shimla, the conducting body for HP MBBS 2018 admission, has postponed the second round of counselling and the final schedule will be notified soon. HPU has released the merit list for Himachal Pradesh NEET admissions on June 25, 2018, comprising all the eligible candidates who had applied for admissions through the application form of HP MBBS 2018 from June 12, 2018. The candidates were required to fill in the application form of HP MBBS admission 2018 on or before June 20, 2018, in order to be eligible for the subsequent processes. HPU conducts the admission for the state quota seats on behalf of Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Shimla.

Only candidates who completed the process of filling the application form of HP MBBS 2018 have been included in the state merit list. HP MBBS admission 2018 will be conducted for a total of 630 medical seats and 191 dental seats in the government as well as private colleges of Himachal Pradesh, for which a total of 3960 candidates are eligible as per the merit list of Himachal NEET. Candidates included in the merit list will be able to participate in the process of counselling.

Counselling for HP MBBS 2018 will tentatively start from the last week of June 2018. Admission to HP MBBS 2018 will be taken on the basis of NEET UG 2018 scores only. Eligibility Criteria for HP MBBS BDS Admission 2018

  • Candidates seeking admission to HP MBBS BDS 2018 must be Indian citizens.

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as on December 31, 2018.

  • Candidates should have been born on or after May 7, 1993.

  • The candidates must be domicile of Himachal Pradesh in order to be eligible for HP MBBS BDS admission 2018 (except in case of Management quota seats, where students who are not domicile of Himachal Pradesh are also eligible to apply).

  • Bonafide candidates of Himachal Pradesh whose parents have been posted outside on account of All India Services are also eligible to apply.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Biotechnology and English from a board recognized by the Central/State government. Candidates from NIOS/Open Board are also eligible to apply as confirmed by a notice released by Himachal Pradesh University on June 15, 2018.

  • Candidates must have passed in each of the mentioned individual subjects securing a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (for unreserved category), 45% (for Physically Handicapped (PH), unreserved) and 40% (for the reserved category including PH reserved) in them.

  • Candidates must have secured the required minimum percentile in the NEET 2018 UG examination.

HP MBBS BDS Counselling 2018

The second round of counselling was scheduled to start from July 24 but has been postponed until further notice is released by HPU. The counselling for HP MBBS BDS 2018 admission was held between June 29 and July 5, 2018. HP MBBS BDS counselling 2018 is conducted in an offline mode. The admission of candidates through HP MBBS BDS 2018 counselling is based on merit-cum-preference. NEET UG scores are used to decide the merit and the choices of the candidates while filling up the application form will be the candidates’ preference(s). Candidates will have to be physically present before the counselling committee at the designated venue as per the scheduled date and time along with all the relevant documents in original and copies. The counselling committee will verify the documents and grant admission to HP MBBS BDS accordingly.

 

HP MBBS BDS 2018 Application Form

HPU released the HP MBBS BDS 2018 application form on June 12, 2018. The authorities released the application form online. The last date to apply for HP MBBS BDS admission 2018 was on or before June 20, 2018. Candidates who successfully completed the process of online application by payment of application fee are now included in the HP MBBS BDS merit list 2018. The application fee for admission to HP MBBS BDS 2018 was INR 900 for SC/ST/IRDP/BPL/PH and INR 1800 for General/NRI/OBC and other categories.

 

HP MBBS BDS Merit List 2018

Himachal Pradesh University has released a provisional category-wise merit list for HP MBBS BDS 2018 on June 25, 2018. HP MBBS BDS merit list 2018 has been prepared on the basis of the NEET UG 2018 scores. The state merit list thus includes only the names of those candidates who have been included in the central merit list of CBSE and have filled up the online application form for HP MBBS BDS 2018. Candidates included in the merit list will be eligible for the various sessions of counselling of HP MBBS BDS 2018. The merit list published on the official website of HP MBBS BDS admission 2018 includes the candidates’ name, NEET roll number, NEET score, state rank, and category.

 

HP MBBS BDS 2018 Seat Reservation

The seat reservation for HP MBBS BDS 2018 is different for the government and private medical/dental colleges. The government medical and dental colleges have 85% seats reserved for state quota. The seats in private medical and dental college have been equally divided among the state and management quota, ie 50% each. The state quota seats have been further reserved for various categories. Reservation in HP MBBS BDS 2018 for various categories in state quota is in the following manner:
