In 2020, the MBBS qualifying cut-off for the general category was 720 - 147, In 2021, it dropped down to 720-138, and in 2022 the NEET cutoff further dropped down to 715-117. However, in 2023 the cutoff rose to 720 - 137, which touched 720 - 162 in 2024. Similarly, the NEET admission cutoff has also seen a significant rise due to various factors. The qualifying MBBS cut-off is declared by the NTA along with the declaration of NEET UG result. Qualifying MBBS cutoff depends on several factors such as the total number of applicants in NEET UG, the total seats available, the difficulty level of the exam, and many other factors.

Over the past five years, the competition for MBBS seats in India has intensified, reflected in steadily rising NEET qualifying cut-off scores. The MBBS cutoff for the general category increased from 720 - 147 to 720 - 162, seeing an increase of 10.20 % increase. For SC, ST, and OBC categories, the MBBS cutoff increased from 146 - 113 to 161 - 127, seeing an increase of 12.38 %. The year-wise trends in MBBS cut off is explained below.
The MBBS cut off in 2024 saw the highest-ever increase since the inception of the NEET UG exam. The NEET cut off for the year 2024 was the highest ever with the general category NEET cutoff rising to 162. This is mainly due to the highest ever (over 24 lakh) NEET participants in 2024.
In 2023, the cutoff increased slightly by 17%, settling at 137 marks for general candidates from the previous year’s 117 marks.
The year 2022 saw the lowest cutoff in the last five years, with the general category cutoff at 117 marks. This was a decrease of 15% from the previous year’s MBBS cut off.
In 2021, the cutoff for MBBS admission was 138, seeing a decrease of 9 marks from the previous year.
The MBBS cut off in 2020 was on the higher side with 147 marks. This was mainly due to the less MBBS seats and higher participation of the students.
The last five years cutoff for the top MBBS colleges is provided in the table below. The admission MBBS cut off of top medical colleges is provided in the form of closing rank. Closing rank is the minimum All India Rank up to which the admission is granted. For example, if AIIMS, New Delhi cutoff in 2020 was 51, that means candidates with an All India rank of 52 and beyond didn’t get admission to AIIMS, New Delhi.

Hello! The acceptable score for BSc Nursing admission through NEET 2025 depends on the category and the college status. The score range for general category students seeking admission in top government institutions should be 550 to 580 marks while OBC candidates should aim for 530 to 560 marks and respective cutoffs for students from SC and ST categories are 400 to 450 and 350 to 400 respectively.
