The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET 2024 on May 5. As per the NTA's notice of NEET 2024 statistics, 2406079 candidates registered for the exam this year. 1029198 registered candidates were male, 1376863 candidates were female, and 18 candidates who registered were from third gender. NEET UG saw an increase of 16.85% in registration compared to the previous year. The number of NEET UG 2024 registered students is the highest jump in the last seven years with Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra being the top states with the highest registrations.

2406079 medical students registered for the NEET UG exam 2024. Before the NTA re-opened the application window, as per the media report 23,81,833 candidates had registered. The number of female students outnumbered male aspirants with 13,63,216 registrations. Uttar Pradesh topped the list with 3,39,125 registrations, followed by Maharashtra with 2,79,104 NEET 2024 registrations. It must be noted that the number mentioned in the article is not released by the NTA officially and is taken after an in-depth analysis of NEET registrations. NTA conducted the NEET 2024 exam in pen and paper-based mode. Looking at the previous year's data, over 24 lakh students appeared in the NEET 2024 exam.
