Careers360: Congratulations on your NEET 2024 results! How are your feelings about this achievement?
Taijas: I am thrilled that I cracked NEET. I was shocked when I checked the NEET answer keys. The feeling hasn’t sunk in yet.
Careers360: Tell us something about yourself. Where did you complete your schooling and what about your family?
Taijas: I did my schooling at Yadavindra Public School, Mohali till Class 10 and Class 10+2 from Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36-D, Chandigarh. The inspiration to take medicine as a career came from my parents since they are both doctors. I have an elder sister who is pursuing BBA.
Careers360: What motivated you to choose medicine as a career? When did you decide to become a doctor?
Taijas: Like I said my parents have been my inspiration. In Class 10, I decided to take medical as a stream and got serious about pursuing it in the future.
Do check out:
Careers360: Is this your first attempt?
Taijas: Yes, it was my first attempt.
Careers360: How much time did you devote to self-study?
Taijas: First, I decided to prepare a day-wise NEET study plan. Also, I divided the time I wanted to give to each section. I never gave myself pressure.
Careeres360: What do you think is better coaching or self-study?
Taijas: First comes the coaching because there, you get a proper direction to prepare since you cannot do it by yourself. But yes, it is also important how well you revise the topics that you study daily.
Careers360: How was the NEET UG preparation different from the early days to just a month before the exam?
Taijas: I was extremely cool about my preparation in the beginning, however, I felt a little stressed after my board exams. So I started giving more time to studies during the last month.
Careers360: What was your exam day strategy? What was the roughest and the easiest section, according to you?
Taijas: My exam day strategy is to keep calm and not let the exam stress take over my brain. Also to complete the questions I find easy at the first and the hard ones at the end. I solved Zoology at the beginning. I found Bootony tough in the NEET 2024 question paper, as well as section B of Physics.
Careers360: Which college is your dream college for studying medicine? Which specialisation would you be interested in?
Taijas: AIIMS, New Delhi is my dream college. I either want to be a cardiologist or a radiologist, however, I will decide after I complete my MBBS.
Careers360: To whom do you attribute your successful NEET topper journey?
Taijas: I want to dedicate my success to my parents, my entire family and my teachers.
Careers360: What would you suggest to future NEET aspirants in terms of preparation, attitude, etc?
Taijas: My message to future NEET aspirants is to focus completely on the NCERT and what they are studying in school. All sections in NEET exam are mostly based on NCERT.
