PGIMER Exam Pattern 2020 - Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh (PGIMER) has released PGIMER 2020 exam pattern July session of MD/MS entrance test with the information brochure. Through an official notification, the authorities have announced the exam dates for the PGIMER exam July, which was scheduled to be conducted on May 23, 2020 will now be conducted on June 14. As per the PGIMER exam pattern 2020 in the prospectus, the exam timings had been changed. In this year, the PGIMER exam is expected to be conducted from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Postgraduate medical graduates need to know the PGIMER 2020 exam pattern thoroughly to be able to crack the exam using the right strategy. As per the PGIMER paper pattern, the exam will be held in a computer-based mode for a duration of 180 minutes in which aspirants need to attempt 250 multiple-choice questions based on the MBBS syllabus. The syllabus for PGIMER 2020 releases through an information bulletin by the exam conducting authority. The approximate number of questions subject-wise is mentioned below in the table. It is extremely important for aspirants to be completely aware of the basic exam pattern of PGIMER 2020, so as to understand the PGIMER 2020 marking scheme. Candidates can read the points mentioned in the table below to get an idea about the basic exam pattern of PGIMER 2020 July session.
As a total number of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) asked in the PGIMER exam is 250 with five alternative responses for each question, that amounts to a total of 1250 responses.
For each question, at least one correct response will be there and may or may not have more than one correct response.
An aspirant will be awarded marks for every correct answer and negative marking will be done for every incorrect answer. It is to be noted that no marks will be given for deducted for questions left unanswered.
The percentage score of a candidate as per the PGIMER 2020 exam pattern will be determined using the following formula:

Candidates who will successfully submit the PGIMER application form 2020 will be issued PGIMER 2020 admit card. Before the release of the admit card, the authority will release the mock test for all the registered candidates. Candidates must carry the admit card on the day of examination in order to enter the examination hall. Along with the admit card, the candidate will be required to mandatorily carry a valid photo ID proof. The admit card of PGIMER 2020 discloses the address of examination center, reporting time amongst other crucial information regarding the exam.
PGIMER 2020 exam result will be declared by the authorities in online mode. The result for PGIMER 2020 will be announced in the form of a scorecard that can be checked using the login ID, password and captcha code. Based on the scores of PGIMER 2020, the authority will also release PGIMER merit list 2020 with the name of the candidates who are eligible to appear for the counselling process. PGIMER 2020 result for MD/MS courses will mention the names of candidates, roll number, total percentile & marks obtained, subject-wise scores, All India Rank (AIR) and other counselling details. Candidates who will secure the minimum required percentile as declared by the exam conducting authority will be considered to have cleared the entrance examination.

Here's the eligibility criteria for for those Indian citizens or Overseas citizens who have pursued their Primary Medical Qualifications from Medical colleges that are outside India territory.
- FMG candidates have to mandatorily pass NBE conducted Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) (Screening Test).
- Medical graduates from foreign must be registered with MCI/SMC
- The internship requirement for FMG candidates, as per eligibility criteria of NEET PG, is the same as mentioned above for overall candidates
- On the day of conduction of NEET PG 2020, FMG candidates are required to bring along their FMGE Pass Certificate issued by NBE
