The National Testing Agency (NTA) releases the category wise All India Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET) qualifying marks 2024 at its official website, exams.nta.ac.in/AIAPGET/. To qualify AIAPGET exam, candidates need to score equal or above the qualifying percentile and marks. The qualifying percentile for AIAPGET 2024 is reduced by 15 percentile from the earlier 50th percentile for General and EWS, and 40th percentile for the remaining categories. The Ayurveda AIAPGET qualifying mark 2024 for the UR category is 389-123, for SC, ST, and OBC it is 122-106, for UR/EWS PH candidates it is 122-108, and for OBC PH it is 112. For AIAPGET exam, the qualifying marks are expressed as a percentage of the total marks. The AIAPGET qualifying marks differ for different categories. The general qualifying criteria is mentioned below.
General category: Candidates belonging to the general category need to score at least 50% of the total marks to qualify the examination.
General- PwD category: Candidates who belong to general- PwD category are required to score at least 45% of the total qualifying marks to qualify for the AIAPGET 2024 exam.
SC/ST/OBC/ PH category: For SC/ST/OBC categories including physically handicapped in these categories, the qualifying marks are set as 40% of the total marks.
Various factors that influence the determination of qualifying marks for AIAPGET are mentioned below.
AIAPGET difficulty level: The relative difficulty of the AIAPGET exam is important for the determination of qualifying marks. A tougher exam may lead to a lower qualifying mark whereas an easier exam may lead to a higher qualifying mark.
Number of candidates: The total number of candidates appearing for the exam also impacts the qualifying mark. If the number of candidates appearing for the exam is high, it potentially raises the AIAPGET qualifying marks.
Performance trends: The overall performance of the candidates in a particular year can have an impact on the AIAPGET cutoff marks. If the majority of candidates perform well, the qualifying marks could be elevated.
To secure the minimum marks to qualify for AIAPGET, candidates need to understand the AIAPGET exam pattern. As per the exam pattern of AIAPGET, a total of 120 multiple choice questions are asked in the exam. Candidates need to choose one option as the correct one. For every correct answer, candidates are given 4 marks. However, the exam has AIAPGET negative marking 2024 policy to ensure accuracy and precision in answering. Therefore, for each incorrect response, 1 mark is deducted. Unanswered questions do not fetch any mark or penalties.
