My NEET PG2025 AIR rank is 25070 and score is 499. Can I gate a seat in any government college of West Bengal through State quota in general surgery or ortho? I am general category.

Chelsie G 7th Sep, 2025

Hello, with an AIR of 25070 and a score of 499 in NEET PG 2025 under the General category, getting a government seat in West Bengal for highly demanded branches like General Surgery or Orthopedics may be difficult, as these usually close at much higher ranks. However, you still stand a chance for other clinical or para-clinical branches through the state quota counselling. I suggest using the NEET PG college predictor link I’m sharing here, which will give you a clearer idea of the colleges and branches you may get based on your rank and category.

My NEET PG2025 AIR rank is 25070 and score is 499. I am EWS. Can I get general surgery or ortho in any government college through AIQ?

Prachi Kumari 8th Sep, 2025

Hello,

With AIR 25070 and score 499 in NEET PG 2025 under EWS, it is not possible to get MS General Surgery or Orthopaedics in any government college through AIQ.

These branches usually close at much higher ranks (within 12k–15k for General Surgery and even earlier for Orthopaedics).

Your chances in AIQ government quota for these subjects are very slim. You may try in state quota counselling where cut-offs go higher.

Hope it helps !

My NEET PG 2025 AIR rank is 25070 and my score is 499.I am EWS CATEGORY. Can I get any clinical subject in Government college through AIQ

Ankur Mehta 8th Sep, 2025

Hey! With an AIR of 25070 and a score of 499 in NEET PG 2025 under EWS category, getting a core clinical branch like General Medicine, Surgery, Ortho, Pediatrics, or OBG in a government college through AIQ will be very tough because cut-offs for these subjects are usually much higher.

But you still have a chance in para-clinical branches (like Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic, etc.) and in some states during state counselling you may get less demanded clinical branches such as Anesthesia, Radiotherapy or Psychiatry depending on seat availability.

I’ll suggest you keep an eye on both AIQ and State Quota counselling, and also consider DNB seats, since they usually go lower in rank compared to MD/MS in government colleges.

Chelsie G 7th Sep, 2025

Hello, DNB seats are offered by top NBE accredited hospitals like Tata Main Hospital ,Jamshedpur, Gadag IMS ,Karnataka, and many reputed institutes across India. There are around 6,000 DNB seats, with cut offs varying by branch. For example, General Medicine closes near rank 634 in AIQ, while state cut-offs go up to 8 to 12k ranks. Branch wise, Radiology and Medicine usually close above 540 marks, while Anaesthesia is around 420 to 430. You can check detailed cut-offs and institute wise data from the link I am sharing here.

i got 45k in neet pg... can i get any good DNB OR MD pathology branch with OBC quota

Awadh 31st Aug, 2025

With a NEET PG rank of around 45,000 under the OBC category, securing admission in a good DNB or MD Pathology program is feasible, especially in private medical colleges and accredited hospitals offering DNB courses. Although government medical colleges often have higher cutoffs for MD Pathology, private institutions and deemed universities provide better chances for candidates with ranks in this range.

Some notable private colleges where candidates with your rank might consider applying for MD or DNB Pathology include:

  1. Kasturba Medical College, Manipal – Known for quality medical education and offering both MD and DNB programs.

  2. JSS Medical College, Mysore – Offers MD and DNB courses and has recognition across specialties.

  3. Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi – A well-regarded institution providing DNB Pathology with good clinical exposure.

  4. Christian Medical College, Ludhiana – It offers DNB programs and is known for high academic standards.

  5. Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai – Offers MD and DNB courses with decent ranking cutoffs in private medical schools.

For DNB courses, accredited hospitals across multiple cities conduct admissions through centralized counseling. These hospitals often have more flexible cutoffs compared to government colleges, making DNB a valuable alternative.

It is advised to participate in all rounds of counseling (state and all-India), explore mop-up and stray vacancy rounds, and be open to multiple institutions across nearby states to maximize admission opportunities.

Your OBC reservation quota positively impacts cutoff relaxation, improving your chances further.

In conclusion, while highly competitive government MD Pathology seats may be difficult with a 45,000 rank, private colleges like Kasturba Medical College, JSS Mysore, Amrita Kochi, Christian Medical College Ludhiana, and Sri Ramachandra Chennai offer promising opportunities. DNB programs in hospital-based centers present additional good options to pursue a career in pathology.

I obtained AIR 15k in Neet PG 2025, AU Region, Andhra Pradesh, BC-D category, Female. Are there any chances to get Pedia or OBGY in a governement colleges?

Abhilasha Agrawal 31st Aug, 2025

With an AIR of 15,000 in NEET PG 2025, BC-D category, your chances of getting Pediatrics or OBGY in Andhra Pradesh government colleges are very low. Previous year cutoffs for these specialties were usually under AIR 7,000–9,000 for BC categories. You may have better chances in private or semi-government colleges. Consider opting for other specialties with lower cutoffs if you aim for a government seat. DNB programs in private hospitals are another alternative. Always check official state counseling trends before deciding.

I have not received Neet PG-2025 Boucher in my register e mail i.e. jadhavanilr@1956 gmail.com

Anshika Gupta 11th Sep, 2025

The information bulletin (often called a brochure) for NEET-PG 2025 was released in April 2025 and is not sent to individual emails. Instead, it must be downloaded from the official website of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). So you can visit their official website and download from there. If you are still experiencing issues, you should contact the NBEMS helpdesk directly.
