    About CPET 2026

    The Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Uttar Pradesh, conducts the Common Paramedical Entrance Test (CPET) exam. Through the UP CPET, admissions will be granted to paramedical courses in all government and private colleges affiliated with ABVMU Uttar Pradesh, SGPGIMS Lucknow, KGMU Lucknow, and UPUMS Saifai.  The authority will release the CPET exam dates 2026 soon on the official website -abvmuup.edu.in.

    The CPET exam is conducted in pen-and-paper mode. A total of 120 multiple-choice questions will be asked in English and Hindi. As per the CPET exam pattern, the question paper is divided into four sections. Each section will carry 30 questions. There is no negative marking in the CPET entrance exam. Those who will qualify for the exam will be considered for the UP CPET counselling session.

    Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University, Lucknow, announces the CPET result on the official website: abvmuup.edu.in. The authority prepares a merit list based on the scores obtained in the CPET entrance exam. Candidates who are qualified for the exam can participate in the counselling process. 

    How to check the UP CPET result?

    Candidates can follow the steps to download the CPET result below.

    • Visit the official website, abvmuup.edu.in

    • Click on the CPET result link in the ‘NOTICE’ section.

    • Enter the registration ID and date of birth.

    • The result will be displayed on the screen.

    • Save and download the CPET results for future reference.

    Candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria to apply for UP CPET 2026. These UP CPET eligibility requirements are set by the authority. Check the CPET eligibility criteria guidelines below

    • A candidate must be an Indian citizen

    • Candidates who attain the age of 17 years as of December 31 of the year of the examination are eligible. However, for B.Sc paramedical courses in SGPGIMS, Lucknow, the maximum age limit is 30 years, while for other affiliated institutes, there is no maximum age limit. 

    • Candidates who pass 10+2 with a minimum pass percentage of 45% (40% for reserved candidates) in Physics, Chemistry, and  Biology are eligible for all paramedical courses.

    • Students from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) and other open schools recognized by the central and state boards can also apply. 

    • Candidates must have passed English individually

    • The candidate should be medically fit. No candidate is granted admission until he/she is declared medically fit by the Medical Board constituted by the Government Medical College or the District CMO.

    CPET subject-wise eligibility criteria

    • Candidates who have passed 10+2 with at least a 45% pass percentage (40% for reserved candidates) in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) and passed in English individually are eligible for Bachelor of Optometry and Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology courses. 

    • For a Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, candidates must have qualified 12th with at least 45% pass percentage (40% for reserved candidates) in Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science/ Statistics/ Electronics/ Psychology and passed in English individually.
