I would rather recommend percentile than Marks because percentile is a stable factor. For AIIMS, a rank with 1000 which corresponds to a percentile of 99.2 about and JIPMER within 200 rank, a percentile of 99.7 and above.
Percentile refers to you have scored more than how much percent of students. For eg there are 100 students, the topper stocking 100 percentile and you scoring 96 percentile. This means that the topper has score more than 100% other candidates i.e. All other candidates.
