How will the old students get pg seat if Neet gets replaced by NEXT?

Animesh Vats Student Expert 30th Jul, 2019
Hi Dr. Binayak,
As per the latest news this bill has just been proposed but not yet passed in the parliament. If this bill is passed then accordingly the admission to PG courses will be on the basis of MBBS final year marks obtained by students and not NEET PG.
But in case the bill is not passed then the NEET PG exam will stay there as the admission criteria for higher courses.
I hope this information helps.
All the best.

Please can anyone help me out about the ideal way to prepare for JIPMER PG EXAM..which subjects should be given more importance..?TIA

Anik Das 28th Jul, 2019

Hello AJI, please check out the following link for detailed info on JIPMER PG: https://medicine.careers360.com/exams/jipmer-pg

There will be sections on clinical sciences and basic clinical sciences, of which the basic clinical subjects/topics like anatomy, physiology and biochemistry should be paid more heed since they can be very scoring.

Some other tips to excel in this exam:

Be very clear with the Syllabus and exam pattern

Get hold of good study material: Books, Previous year papers and sample papers etc (research both online and offline to know which material is really good for a particular subject)

Prepare a study schedule

Clear concepts from foundational level

Practice sample papers, diagrams again and again

Revise and reread the topics properly

Identify on your strengths and weaknesses, focus on the strengths and build on it.

Take ample breaks, rest, eat well, exercise and meditate.

Im post dgo candidate shall apply for md og

shruti jha Student Expert 18th Jul, 2019

Hi Kousi,

As you had done post doctorate diploma in gynocology and obstetrics you are not eligible for the jipmer pg entrance exams. Because for appearing in jipmer pg entrance exams a candidate must hold a mbbs degree or any equivalent degree from a recognised university under mci approvals.

So,as you are having a diploma and not a degree, you are not eligible for the MD og courses though.

Good luck.

Is there any chapter weightage for each and every topic in Jipmer Pg or we have to prepare as a whole MBBS syllabus blindly?

STUTI SHALMON MAZGAONKAR Student Expert 15th Jul, 2019

Hello Deepa,

You must go through the complete syllabus thoroughly. Its not necessary that the chapters have same weightage every same year. It consist of questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language & Comprehension, and Quants & Reasoning. Community Medicine, Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Surgery, Pediatrics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dermatology, Anesthesiology, Psychiatry, Radio Diagnosis, Radio Therapy, Emergency Medicine, Orthopedics, Nuclear Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Blood Transfusion Medicine which comes under clinical science carries 150 questions. Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology and Forensic Medicine and Toxicology which comes under basic clinical science carries 100 questions.

How can I frame a daily preparation schedule for cracking Jipmer PG ,2024? Iam a 1st year student.

Apurva anand 15th Jul, 2019

Hello Deepa, You need to do a continuous study through every day till the last day of examinations. Learn from good books like TARGET JIPMER, TARGET JIPMER SUPPLEMENT, and other good books. Try to make some time every day for the revisions of old topics. Never study any new topic at the end because it can cause stress and cause some depression of you don't get it.
