Why is Allied Health a Good Career Path?

Many young talented students wish to enter the medical industry. However, we all know that more than 20 lakh students appear for NEET and compete for around 1 lakh seats in India. So, allied health is a great alternative medicine career path to enter the industry. Of course, there are a few allied health courses that do require NEET. But the opportunities are comparatively more in the allied health sector. After all, the healthcare system in recent times is way beyond just doctors and nurses.

These professions require shorter courses (3 - 5 years). Hence, students are expected to enter the workforce sooner. Finally, with a growing aging population, chronic and lifestyle diseases (e.g., diabetes, heart diseases, cancer, etc.) are on the rise. There has been a huge demand for specialists in the allied health sector for a decade or so. The COVID pandemic just accelerated that demand.
