MD Dermatology is one of the most competitive branches in NEET PG. In the 2025 counselling, government medical colleges generally required a very good NEET PG rank.
For the General category under All India Quota, some examples of 2025 closing ranks were:
Government Medical College, Kozhikode – around 20
VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi – around 142
Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram – around 282
BJ Government Medical College, Pune – around 387
Government Medical College, Kottayam – around 302
Government Medical College, Kannur – around 1000 in the OBC category.
The exact closing rank varies according to category, state quota/AIQ, counselling round and seat availability.
Therefore, for a good government college, a rank within the top few thousand gives a much better chance, while candidates with ranks around 7,000–8,000 may also have opportunities in later rounds depending on the category and available seats.
Hello Student,
For SVIMS Tirupati, the 2024 closing All India rank for MD Nuclear Medicine was 16,008, while the 2022 closing rank was 6,816. The 2024 opening rank was 5,276. Cutoffs can vary by year, category and counselling round, so these figures should be treated as previous-year references rather than guaranteed ranks for admission.

Dear Student,
Students who get seats in ESIC medical colleges (such as ESIC Bangalore) through the All India Quota (AIQ) or Central/ESIC quotas during NEET UG do not automatically get state domicile or state quota eligibility for NEET PG in that specific state (like Karnataka) unless they satisfy that individual state’s specific permanent domicile/residency criteria.
State-quota seats are filled based on NEET PG merit, and candidates can apply for state-quota seats irrespective of domicile.
