Online exam and hybrid model

The panel recommends conducting entrance tests online wherever feasible. If an online format is not practical, a hybrid model for NEET should be implemented. In this approach, the NEET exam papers would be transmitted digitally to the examination centres, while students would mark their answers on OMR sheets.

Two-stage NEET exam

The expert committee has proposed conducting the NEET UG exam in multiple stages, similar to the JEE format. This approach would enable the authorities to manage candidates more effectively and address their needs more efficiently.

Limiting the number of attempts in NEET

As there is no limit to the number of attempts in the NEET exam, candidates can appear for the medical entrance test as many times as they want. The committee has also proposed to restrict the number of attempts in the NEET 2025 exam.

Recruiting full-time staff

The panel advises the NTA to recruit full-time personnel rather than relying on temporary staff. Additionally, it recommends avoiding the use of private centres for conducting the NEET UG exam.

NEET 2025 exam pattern changes

The NEET UG 2025 exam may be held online with changes in exam pattern. As per various media reports, the NEET UG 2025 exam mode might be changed to online. Also, there can be some changes in NEET 2025 exam pattern. If the NEET 2025 exam pattern changes, then optional questions from section B might be removed.

NTA NEET changes done in previous years

Over the years, the NTA has made significant changes in the NEET examination. From the NEET exam pattern to tie breaker policy to syllabus, the authority has incorporated several changes. Check the major changes in NEET exam made in the previous years.

NEET application form fee

The NEET form fees has undergone a revision in the previous years, with slight increases across various categories, including General, OBC-NCL, EWS, SC/ST, PwD, and international candidates. The fee for General category candidates was set at Rs 1,700, while candidates from the General-EWS and OBC-NCL categories were required to pay Rs 1,600. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the fee remained significantly subsidized at Rs 1,000. NRI candidates were charged Rs 9,500.

NEET UG syllabus

Last year, the NTA introduced significant changes to the NEET UG syllabus in an effort to align the exam more closely with the evolving needs of the medical and dental fields. The changes involved both the deletion of certain topics and the addition of new ones across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. These modifications were made to ensure that the syllabus reflects the most relevant and current knowledge required for medical and dental studies. Check the NEET reduced syllabus here.

NEET exam centres

Last year, the number of NEET exam centres in India were increased from 499 to 554. The exam was held at 554 centers across India, as well as in 14 international cities. These foreign locations included the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, Sri Lanka, Qatar, Nepal, Malaysia, Kuwait, Nigeria, Bahrain, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore.

NEET tie-breaking criteria

Questions related to NEET

Have a question related to NEET ?

Hello Anjali,

The admission process depends on the college and course. For medical-related programs like MBBS or BPT, NEET is required. Government colleges need high NEET scores (e.g., 550+ for general category), while private colleges may accept lower scores but have higher fees. Scholarships are available based on merit, category, or special exams.

Steps:

  1. Register on the college’s official site.
  2. Submit required documents (12th marksheet, NEET scorecard, etc.).
  3. Attend counseling if applicable and pay fees.

For specific details, provide the college name.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries then feel free to share your questions with us we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you and wishing you all the best for your bright future.

Hello,

For NEET MDS , here's the clarification regarding your category:

  1. Central List of OBC :  Your caste appears under OBC, but this is based on the central government's classification.

  2. Kerala Government List : In Kerala's list, you fall under the OEC-SC category, which is specific to the state's classification.

  3. NEET MDS Application :

    • Since NEET is a central-level exam, the classification that matters is based on the central government’s policies.
    • If you are applying for the central quota, you should select the OBC category as per the central list, as the state’s OEC-SC classification may not apply for NEET MDS.
    • If applying for state quota in Kerala, refer to Kerala's guidelines, which may accept your OEC-SC status.
  4. Consult Kerala Authorities : It's advisable to confirm with the Kerala State authorities or the NEET MDS helpdesk to ensure accurate selection based on the state and central quota policies.

Hope it helps !

Historically, the OBC cutoff for Osmania Medical College is usually around 580-600 marks, so a score of 600 puts you comfortably above the expected cutoff.

Since you are from Hyderabad, you will benefit from the Telangana state quota, further increasing your chances of getting admission.

To sum up all you have a good chance of getting admission to Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad if you score 600 in NEET exam.
