FMGE Preparation Tips 2025:
The National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) twice every year in June and December. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will release the application form for FMGE 2025 and notification tentatively in April 2025. According to the dates, the exam last session was conducted on January 12, 2025. FMGE 2025 is conducted for foreign candidates seeking admission to MBBS courses in India. The FMGE is a very important screening test for international medical graduates who want to practice medicine in India. As the FMGE 2025 syllabus is based on the MBBS curriculum, candidates must be aware of the exam pattern to score good marks in the entrance examination. As per FMGE exam pattern 2025, the test will be conducted in two parts: Part A and Part B. Each part will be of 2 hours and 30 minutes duration.
A total of 300 multiple-choice questions are asked in the FMGE examination. For every correct answer, one mark is awarded. Although there is no negative marking, to qualify for the FMGE exam, candidates need to secure at least 150 marks out of 300.
A study plan for the FMGE should focus on proper coverage of the syllabus, time management, and consistent practice. It includes prioritizing high-yield subjects like Medicine, Surgery, and Pediatrics while dedicating regular time to revising Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology.
Making a realistic timetable to study for FMGE. Aspiring medical foreign candidates must build a study schedule which focuses on covering the syllabus within the targeted time.
