Question: Please introduce yourself and tell us about the moment when you saw the result?
Dr. Rena: I have completed my MBBS from N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University (MRSU) in Russia. I was overwhelmed to see my results for the recently held FMGE exam for the December session 2025. I was not expecting such a high score. Although the journey was intense, I stayed focussed and maintained a positive mindset to manage my stress during the preparation.

Question: How did you prepare for the FMGE 2025? What challenges did you face during the preparation?

Dr. Rena: I started my FMGE journey during the 4th year of my MBBS course. By the end of 5th year, I had improved a lot, and by the 6th year, I had a solid grasp of the concepts. During the last 6 months of intense preparation, I completed the entire syllabus of FMGE and plenty of revisions. I am deeply grateful to my parents for the opportunity to study medicine in Russia. My mother, in particular, was very supportive, she provided me with a dedicated space where I could prepare with full focus and confidence.

Question: How did you approach all the 19 subjects individually during the preparation?

Dr. Rena: I focussed on the marks weightage of each subject and planned my FMGE preparation accordingly. I prioritized multiple revisions for high weightage subjects to understand the core concepts and even took the help of videos too. I practiced from MCQs as well for every subject I covered. I was worried about how I could cover the entire FMGE syllabus at home. But, I realised with dedication and hard work, any student can crack the exam like FMGE.

Question: Which was the most challenging subject in the FMGE exam?

Dr. Rena: For me, the most challenging subject was Orthopaedics. Anatomy was somehow dicey but I coped through enough revisions and offered much time to complete the challenging subjects with full concentration. In each month, I used to take two GTs to check my performance level.

Question: What advice would you give to juniors wishing to crack the FMGE exam?

Dr. Rena: My advice for FMGE aspirants would be to remain confident and consistent throughout the preparation. Try to start the FMGE preparation during the course as it will give you ample time to prepare thoroughly and crack the exam with high marks.
