Question: Congratulations Dr. Juhi on being an FMGE topper. Your journey hasn’t been easy moving countries, changing universities, and still achieving such a score. How are you feeling about being FMGE January 2026 topper?
Dr Juhi: Thank you so much sir. I am feeling pretty good. I was not expecting to be FMGE January 2026 topper. This achievement will take time to sink in.
Question: How was your preparation journey? How many questions were you solving daily?
Dr Juhi: I started preparing around six months before the FMGE December 2025 exam date. Initially, I kept a modest target of about 50–70 questions per day. As the exam approached, I gradually increased that number, first to around 100 and later close to 150 per day. I didn’t go beyond that because reviewing the questions properly also took time.
Question: What was your approach in solving questions when you were preparing for the FMGE exam?
Dr Juhi: For the most part, I followed a mixed approach. Sometimes if I had just finished a subject, I would do its previous year questions or related modules. But generally, I preferred creating custom modules with multiple subjects. It helped me integrate concepts better and simulate the actual exam environment where questions are mixed.
Question: Was there any specific reason for not doing subject-wise practice and emphasizing more on custom modules?
Dr Juhi: Well, the mixed questions gave me exposure and built conceptual links with topics I had already studied. Also, the FMGE exam is not divided equally by subjects. Doing subject-only practice sometimes felt time-consuming and less reflective of the real paper pattern.
Question: What was your strategy for revision?
Dr Juhi: My priority was reviewing incorrect questions first. Later, I brushed through the correct ones, especially the guessed correct answers. Even if I was unsure about a question, I marked it as “guessed correct” so I could revisit it. That helped reinforce weak areas.
Question: How many hours did you study in the first five months?
Dr Juhi: I did not follow a rigid schedule, but I studied most of the day. I ensured 7–8 hours of sleep as that was non-negotiable. Apart from meals and short breaks, my day was dedicated to studying and preparing for the FMGE 2025 examination.
Question: What was the hardest part in our journey of the FMGE exam?
Dr Juhi: The hardest part was the uncertainty. I was putting in so much effort but still was in doubt whether I will be able to perform on the FMGE December 2025 exam day. Self-doubt is constant, whether you can replicate your mock scores in the real exam. That fear never fully disappears.
Question: Overcoming self-doubt is an important thing to become FMGE Jan 2026 topper. How did you overcome that self-doubt?
Dr Juhi: I focused on what I could control in the present. If I did my work honestly each day, I trusted things would eventually fall into place.
Question: What advice would you give to future aspirants? Can you sum it up in three points?
Dr Juhi: Sure sir, I would like to tell future FMGE aspirants to find intrinsic motivation. The six months are tough and you need a strong reason to keep going. Secondly, try to integrate the subjects as much as you can. Writing side notes helped me recall important points even if I didn’t revisit a subject. Lastly, believe in yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. This is a non-competitive exam with no negative marking. Focus only on your preparation. Comparison increases anxiety and reduces productivity.
