NEET 2020 Photo (Passport/Postcard) Size, Format, Documents, Other Details - NEET 2020 registrations started on December 2, 2019. One of the important steps to fill the NEET application form is uploading the NEET photo (passport/postcard) size, format, documents etc. This is increasingly getting to be a hardship for students who are perplexed at the dimensions of the documents and images as the application form of NEET is giving an error most of the times. Many students have posted queries on Facebook, Quora and even the QnA platform of Careers360 asking for help in getting the NEET 2020 photo size, format, documents and other details correct. If you are a NEET 2020 aspirant, you will need the following guidelines to create the requisite images. You can use any one of the various online tools that can create these images or even use “Paint” on your desktop or laptop. It is to be noted that in case someone else’s signature has been uploaded, the candidature shall be cancelled; a case will be filed as using UFM. Criminal action as per laws of the country shall also be initiated against the student.

1. Passport size photograph – Now the NTA specifications says that

  • Date of Photograph should not be later than September 1, 2019

  • Focus should be on face with 80% and more face coverage

  • Ears should be clearly visible

  • The photograph must be in white background.

  • There should be no scenery or other objects in the background of the photograph.

  • Cap or goggles are a big NO NO.

  • If you wear spectacles regularly then take a photograph with them on. Ideally one without them would be a better way to avoid the light glare on the specs.

  • Do NOT use Polaroid and Computer-generated photos for the NEET application.

  • Do NOT attest the photographs.

Important Note: Keep at least 6 to 8 passport size and 4 to 6 Postcard size colour photographs ready to be used during admissions. It is advisable to keep them ready before as these will be required during counselling.

2. Post Card size photograph: The same passport size photograph can be used and resized to get the post card size photograph. Candidates must keep at least 4 to 5 of these in hand for counselling and admissions.

3. Signature: Some instructions to follow while putting the signature are

  • Put full signature in running hand writing on white paper with black Ink pen.

  • Scan the image for uploading.

  • Note signature should not be in capital letters.

4. Left-hand thumb Impression – NTA instructions for this are given below

  • Put your left-hand thumb Impression on white paper with Blue Ink

  • Scan for the image and upload it

  • Make sure the thumb impression is clear and not smudged.

  • In case of left thumb being unavailable, use the right-hand thumb impression.

5. Class -X Passing Certificate

  • Scan your Class X Passing Certificate.

  • Make sure the image is clear with your details given clearly.

  • Upload it in the dimensions specified in the table given above.

The NEET photo (passport/postcard) size, format, documents specifications, other details are as given above. Candidates may note that their NEET application form will not be submitted until all the documents are uploaded. The payment of the NEET application fee is also allowed only after the documents are uploaded in the correct specifications.

What to do in case of Image Discrepancy?

In case of discrepancies in NEET 2020 photo (passport/postcard) size, format, documents, other details, you will be intimated by NTA by SMS or email. Also, you can use the facility for image correction from January 15 to 31, 2020.

Steps to correct image discrepancies in NEET application form are as follows

  • Click on the 'NEET candidate login' link

  • Enter the NEET 2020 application number and password

  • Use the option to upload the photograph/signature that will be displayed on the screen.

  • Upload the correct images as per the given specifications.

  • Before submission, verify once.

  • An OTP will be sent to your email ID and mobile

  • Enter it and the NEET correction slip will be generated.

  • Take a printout of the same.

What NTA clarifies about 'State of Eligibility' for 15% All India Quota?
NTA has released an official notice on December 18, 2019, stating that all the candidates are eligible for this quota under 'State of Eligibility'. Hence, candidates can fill in any state or union territory against this choice. The erstwhile state of Jammu had opted out of All India Scheme since its establishment, therefore, candidates belong to J&K are not eligible for this quota. There is no upper age limit fir NEET. Having said that, you should be atleast 17 years as on December 31st of the year of admission.

I suugest you to not depend only upon on NCERT textbooks. For Physics, you can prepare from Concepts of Physics by H. C. Verma, Objective Physics By DC Pandey and Fundamental Physics by Pradeep. For Chemistry, you can prepare from books authored by MS Chauhan and N Awasthi, Physical Chemistry by OP Tandon and Inorganic Chemistry by JD Lee. For Biology, you can prepare from
Biology Volume 1 & 2 by Trueman and Objective Biology by Dinesh. Good luck.
