    The full form of PwD is Person with Disability. Candidates from PwD category are given the benefit of reservation in NEET UG exam. Persons who struggle to perform daily tasks due to a physical or mental health issue are categorised as PwD category. People with disabilities are granted reservation in NEET exam to ensure they have an equal opportunity to perform well.

    PwD criteria for NEET

    To be eligible for PwD category in NEET UG exam, candidates must meet the PwD category eligibility set by the authority. A person with a disability is someone who has any kind of disability, whether it’s physical or mental, that limits the functioning of an individual. As per the PwBD act 2016, a candidate is provided with the PwBD certificate only if he/she has at least 40% disability.

    PwD certificate reservation

    As per the National Medical Commission (NMC) norms, a NEET UG PwBD certificate holder is given a reservation of 5% seats in each of general, general-EWS, OBC, SC,and ST category seats under horizontal reservation in undergraduate courses through NEET UG.

    Guidelines for PWD certificate holders in NEET exam

    • PwBD certificate holders are provided with the facility of a scribe in NEET 2026 exam.

    • The NEET PWD certificate holders are given a compensatory time of 1 hour in the entrance exam of 3 hours.

    • The candidate must have passed the 10 + 2 standard or its equivalent from a recognised board in India.

    How to obtain a PwD certificate for NEET?

    To obtain the NEET PwBD certificate, candidates must first qualify the disability criteria recognised by the National Medical Commission and Dental Council of India. The disabilities covered under this certification include blindness, low vision, locomotor disability, deafness, and intellectual disabilities.

    Candidates need to upload the PwD certificate while filling the NEET application form. Applicants need to visit the relevant centres for PwBD certificate, the list of these centres is mentioned below and can also be checked from the information bulletin of NEET 2026. The process involves a thorough medical examination by a panel of doctors appointed by the government. The medical board assesses the disability percentage and issues the PwBD certificate accordingly. Only the candidates with a disability of 40% or more are given PWD certificates.

    Hi! As per the NEET eligibility criteria , you must be 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission. As you will complete the age criteria, you can definitely appear for NEET 2027. Do check the other eligibility criteria and apply for the NEET 2027

    The NEET qualifying cutoff for ST category was 143-113. For ST (PWD) , the cut off marks 2025 was 126-113. As you have not mentioned the closing rank for a particular college. Here, we have provided the college wise 2025 MBBS closing rank for ST category.
