- A candidate who appeared in more attempts to pass the qualifying exam (10+2/GNM) is given less preference as compared to a candidate who has made fewer attempts.
- If the tie still persists, then the candidate who has higher marks in the PGIMER entrance examination is ranked senior
- If the tie is still there, then the candidate who is older in age is given preference
