Choosing the right NEET coaching institute is important for medical aspirants aiming for top ranks in the NEET UG exam. After the result, several coaching centres claim exceptional results. It's essential to identify which institute truly excels at producing All India Rank (AIR) toppers. Exploring the leading coaching centres and comparing and analysing their track record will help determine which one is dominant in producing the top ranks in NEET exam. Did you know that by November 2021, the National Medical Commission reported that 13,01,319 allopathic doctors registered with various state councils and the NMC.
Can you believe the numbers? Can you guess what could be the volume of students applying for the coveted MBBS degree? All the candidates aspiring to pursue an MBBS have to appear and qualify for the very competitive National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- NEET exam. The road to qualifying for medical admission is a long and arduous one. So who is training NEET aspirants to pull through this competition? Where do they train for the exam? Like the JEE, NEET coaching is also extremely competitive and requires a lot of hard work.
Careers360 undertook an immersive study of NEET AIR toppers and their coaching institutes. Let’s take a look at some numbers and understand this mania of the medical profession in detail.
Our analysis shows that in just two years there has been an increase of almost 30 per cent in the number of students who registered for NEET UG. Out of the registered candidates only 53-55 per cent students qualify the test.
NEET UG | Registered | Appeared | Qualified |
| 2024 | 24,06,079 | 2333297 | 13,15,853 |
2023 | 20,87,462 | 20,24,390 | 11,45,976 |
2022 | 18,72,343 | 17,64,571 | 9,93,069 |
2021 | 16,14,777 | 15,44,275 | 8,70,074 |
Now let’s come to the core of these numbers. The top NEET coaching institutes and the findings of our research and analysis are listed below for the ease of our readers’ understanding.

The table above is a clear indicator that Aakash Institute is among the top favourites for NEET coaching among medical aspirants. Not only does the institute have the highest number of students who signed up for coaching at their over 200 centres across India, they have the highest number of AIR toppers as well.
The other institutes have under 50 centres in India, some even less than 50. For Aakash Institute, 75 per cent of the toppers in NEET 2023 among the top 1,000 had taken classroom coaching. Around 57.4 per cent students from Allen Career Institute; 63.64 per cent from Sri Chaitanya; 77.1 per cent from Narayana and almost all students from rest of the coaching institutes took classroom coaching. These numbers underline the fact that classroom coaching is the most favourite and most effective for students.
Now let’s look at some diversity stats for the medical entrance exam. As per NEET UG data for 2022 and 2023, 43 - 44 per cent candidates were boys and the rest were girl candidates and just a handful of them are transgenders. This boys-girls ratio remains almost the same for both the registered candidates as well as the qualified candidates.

There is a clear indication that one module supersedes others – Classroom Coaching. Our research brought out the fact as to how much a student prepares to appear for the NEET. For the ease of analysis, we collected data on AIR top 100 of NEET for the year 2022. Since we could gather information of only the top 70 students, we compared these 70 top rankers out of which 54 students took just one type of coaching, which is either a classroom programme or a distance learning programme offered by coaching centres. As many as 16 top rankers opted to go for more than one coaching institute. The next 10 students took only help from distance education and 11 students took classroom as well as distance coaching to prepare for NEET UG.

The data obtained from all official sources only underlines the fact that medicine continues to be a most preferred profession and getting into a good college or university is only possible if you rank well in the NEET exam. Coaching centres especially the ones mentioned above seem to be the most favoured and popular with Aakash Institute being the top choice for NEET coaching.
On Question asked by student community
Hello,
Among nineteen thousand ranks, it's appreciable if you are able to top 1,000 to 5,000 ranks; that means 5% to 10% (600 and above marks) to secure your seats in top elite colleges or top-performing government colleges
Given the caste, community, and other qualifications, this will be appreciated.
Results may vary from individual to individual, but the above-mentioned stats are true.
Hope it helps with your query. Good luck.
Hello,
To get into a Delhi government medical college via NEET UG, a general candidate and an EWS candidate need higher scores (often 650-700+), while OBC/SC/ST scores are lower but still competitive, with specific marks varying by college and quota (State/AIQ).
I hope it will clear your query!!

Hello aspirant ,
If you want a diploma or degree in orthopedics through NEET 2026 , know that orthopedics as a separate UG medical course does not exist . Orthopedics is a specialization after MBBS or after BPT . To enter medical fields through NEET , you must first qualify NEET and get admission in MBBS . After MBBS , You can choose orthopedics during postgraduate training .Alternatively , you can do BPT through entrance exams like CET or NEET based counselling , and then specialize in orthopedics through internships and certifications.

Hello aspirant,
You cannot rely only on NEET preparation to clear TS EAPCET . NEET covers Physics and Chemistry deeply but TS EAPCET also includes Intermediate IPE syllabus strictly , with questions directly based on textbooks concepts and formulas. Biology is needed for NEET , while EAPCET needs strong Maths for engineering streams. If you plan to attempt both , prepare NEET concepts thoroughly and separately revise IPE-LEVEL Maths, Physics, Chemistry for EAPCET , along with previous year papers.
