The National Testing Agency (NTA) released the EWS NEET cutoff 2024 at exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/. The NEET 2024 general EWS cut off is 720 - 162. For the physically handicapped candidates, the EWS NEET cut off 2024 is 161 - 144. The NEET 2024 qualifying marks for EWS category are 50th percentile for the general category and 45th percentile for the Physically handicapped category.

The EWS NEET cut off marks play a significant role in determining the admission prospects for students who have qualified for the NEET exam. Based on the cutoff, a NEET merit list is prepared. Candidates belonging to the EWS category, whose names are included in the merit list are eligible for the NEET UG counselling. To be eligible for admission to top medical colleges in India and dental colleges in India, candidates need to score equal or above the NEET cut off for EWS category. NEET cutoff marks for the EWS category come in two forms: admission cutoff and NEET qualifying marks 2024. The NEET qualifying marks or NEET passing marks are the minimal marks that candidates must achieve from the total marks in NEET. While the EWS NEET 2024 cut off for admission is the final rank at which an applicant will be granted admission. Medical colleges that accept NEET scores will grant admission according to the NEET 2024 cut-off. The NEET cutoff for MBBS government college is released after the 15% AIQ seats counselling of MCC and the 85% state quota counselling.

The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category was introduced by the Indian government to provide reservation benefits to students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds who do not belong to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or Other Backward Classes (OBC). Only candidates of the general category who are from the economically weaker sections come under the EWS category. To be eligible, candidates need to have an EWS certificate in NEET.
