    Urine Formation: Tubular Secretion
    • It is a process in which the renal tubules excrete additional waste from the bloodstream into the filtrate.
    • It occurs as follows:
      • In PCT: Creatinine, hippuric acid, pigments, drugs, hydrogen ions and ammonia are actively secreted into the filtrate from the interstitial fluid. 
      • In Loop of Henle: The thick segment of the ascending loop of Henle secretes urea.
      • In DCT: Potassium, hydrogen ions, ammonia, bicarbonate ions are secreted into the filtrate here.
