West Bengal MBBS Admission 2019 - Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kolkata, will conduct West Bengal MBBS 2019 admission process for filling state and management quota MBBS and BDS seats in medical/dental colleges in the state. Admission will be based on NEET 2019 scores; there will be separate category-wise and status-wise merit lists that will be prepared for the purpose. Candidate who are listed in respective West Bengal MBBS/BDS 2019 merit lists will be eligible to participate in the counselling process. Application form of West Bengal MBBS/BDS 2019 for Round I of counselling will open in online mode sometime in 3rd week of June. The first two rounds of West Bengal MBBS 2019 counselling will be conducted in online mode, with an additional manual mop up round to be held only if there are vacant seats left. As part of application process, candidates have to pay counselling fee, fill registration details and exercise choice filling.

West Bengal MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2019

The eligibility criteria of West Bengal MBBS 2019 are the set of conditions relating to age limit, qualifying exam passed, and also domicile, that the candidate must meet in order to be considered for admission. 

Eligibility Criteria of West Bengal MBBS 2019

  • Nationality - The candidate needs to be a Indian national

  • Age limit - Must be minimum 17 years of age as on December 31, 2019. The maximum age limit will be as per NTA guidelines.

  • Qualifying exam: The candidate must have passed 10+2 exam with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics scoring minimum 50% aggregate marks in the three subjects. For category-wise minimum marks, check the table below.

  • Domicile requirement:

For admission to state quota MBBS/BDS seats the candidate will also have to fulfill any of the below mentioned conditions:

  • Proforma a1 - The candidate must have been residing in the state of West Bengal for at least 10 years continuously as on December 31, 2018

  • Proforma a2 - The candidate has been living in the state of West Bengal for minimum 10 years continuously as on December 31, 2018 and have passed/is appearing in 10+2 exam in 2019. 

  • Proforma b - Candidate who is not a resident of the state, but whose parent (s) is/are permanent residents of West Bengal with permanent home address in the state for last 10 years as on December 31, 2018.

Qualification in NEET 2019

In addition to the above eligibility requirements, the candidate also needs to have qualified NEET 2019. Or else, the candidate will not be included in the state merit list and consequently disqualified.

West Bengal MBBS Application Form 2019

The counselling process would include two online rounds followed by a mop round, only if there are any vacant seats left. The candidate has the option to participate in all or any of these rounds, provided they meet the guidelines of the individual round. The application form of West Bengal MBBS 2019 will be available in online mode separately for each of these rounds and must be filled by candidates who have qualified NEET 2019.

West Bengal MBBS 2019 application form for Round I of online counselling will commence sometime in the 3rd week of June. Upon registration, the application will have to fill and lock choices, which along with the merit rank of the candidate will be the basis of seat allotment. 

How to fill application form of West Bengal MBBS 2019

  • Online Registration - To start the registration process, go to home page and click on Application for participation in Pre-counseling option. This will redirect the candidate to the registration form where details like roll and application number, and date of birth should be entered as mentioned in NEET UG 2019 admit card. Other information one has to share include valid personal details like mobile number and email id, as well as academic and domicile details. After completing the registration form, click on the Submit button to proceed to payment page.

  • Payment of counselling fee - The application fee can be paid online using net banking, credit or debit cards. Please note that depending on the category of the candidate, the application fee would vary.

  • Document verification - The candidate will have to physically visit the assigned centre and get their original documents verified. Upon successful verification, verification certificate will be generated.

  • Choice filling and locking - Finally choices would have to be filled and locked before the deadline by those candidates whose names appear in the state merit list. In case filled choices are not locked, then last filled choices will automatically get locked. 

West Bengal MBBS Merit List 2019

Admission conducting authority will release the merit list of West Bengal 2019 for Round I of counselling tentatively in the 4th week of June. The merit lists will be released separately for all the available castes (UR, SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B) and status (PH or Not PH). The West Bengal 2019 merit list would prepared based on NEET UG 2019 scores, so it is mandatory for the candidate to qualify in the exam. Please note a candidate can appear in more than one merit lists, and will consequently be considered for admission under each list. 

The merit list would include details like the name of the candidate, NEET AIR, domicile, category, and PC status. 

Candidates who are listed in the various West Bengal MBBS/BDS 2019 merit lists would be eligible for participation in choice filling and locking. 

West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2019

The counselling and seat allotment of West Bengal MBBS 2019 will be conducted first in online mode, which will have two rounds. And if there are vacant seats left after the online round, a manual mop-up round will be conducted. To participate in the West Bengal MBBS/BDS 2019 counselling process, the candidate apart from qualifying in NEET 2019 also must be listed in the any of the published merit lists.

The allotment of seats during West Bengal MBBS Counselling 2019 will be based on both the merit rank of the candidate in their respective merit list (or lists) and also choices selected for admission. After each online seat allotment round, the allotted candidates will be issued provisional allotment letter, which the candidate has to download and take a printout of. Upon seat allotment, the candidates who have been allotted seats will have to report at the allotted institute in person, or else they will be out of the admission process.

  1. What is the minimum qualification for participation in the counselling cum admission process of West Bengal MBBS/BDS 2019?

Ans: The basic eligible criteria that all candidates need to meet is qualify NEET 2019 in his or her category. Also, if the candidate is applying for Management Quota seats, which are unreserved, the candidate must score UR cutoff marks of 50 percentile or higher in NEET 2019.
