    Admission Process for top medical colleges in Haryana

    Overall, in India, all medical colleges have almost the same admission process, and so is in the state of Haryana.

    For UG:

    1. A candidate must take physics, chemistry, and Biology in their 10+2 or higher education. Math is optional, but biology is a must. Physics and chemistry are common for both engineering and Medical science.

    2. After board examination, the candidate must give a National entrance exam called NEET. There is no other Entrance exam which can be taken by any medical college all over India.

    3. After the NEET Results, if you have qualified for NEET exams, then you must go for NEET Counselling. (50th percentile or 720-147 is the qualifying cutoff in 2020) Every state has its own counselling department. In Haryana, the counselling is organised by Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences, Rohtak, on behalf of the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Government of Haryana.  Also, another eligibility criteria for NEET counselling is that the candidate should be a bonafide resident of Haryana and his or her parent’s permanent residence should be in Haryana.

    4. [ Note- first the students need to apply for all India quota ( 15% seats ) after which if they do not get the admission, then they can apply for state quota, ( 85% seats ) whenever it starts.]

    5. As of 2020, govt. has announced the important dates of NEET counselling. The registration starts from 27th October 2020.

    For PG:

    1. The student should be a bachelor in the respective medical field from a recognized college.

    2. The one-year internship of the student should also be done before the entrance exam.

    3. After which, the student must give the NEET-PG entrance exam.

    4. After the results are announced, if the candidate is qualified, then he or she must apply for NEET-PG counselling.

    5. In the NEET-PG counselling, the ALL INDIA QUOTA is 50%, and the state quota is also 50%.
