With a NEET score of 312, getting an MBBS seat in a government medical college through the All India Quota (AIQ) is unlikely, even for reserved categories, as AIQ closing scores are generally higher. Under the State Quota, your chances depend on your category, state of domicile, and previous year cut-offs.
In some states with lower cut-offs (like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, or some northeastern states), you may get a government BDS seat or a MBBS seat in private colleges under the state quota. For SC/ST categories, MBBS chances in state colleges slightly improve. If you belong to General or OBC, options are limited to private colleges or deemed universities, where the fee can range from 8 to 20 lakh per year.
You should also consider BAMS, BHMS, BPT, or B.Sc. Nursing programs, which accept lower NEET scores and offer good career prospects.
With a NEET MDS rank of 1,172, your chances of getting admission to Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences, Chandigarh, are very strong under the All India Quota. The institute’s closing rank for general category candidates in recent years has been well beyond your rank, making you eligible for consideration. While top clinical branches like Oral Surgery, Orthodontics, and Endodontics may be highly competitive and close at lower ranks, you still have a good chance of getting clinical specialties such as Periodontology, Prosthodontics, or Public Health Dentistry. Final allotment will depend on your category, the choices filled, and seat availability during the counselling rounds. Overall, your rank positions you well for admission into a reputable government dental college like HS Judge with a clinical branch.
Hello Aspirant,
Yes, it is important to note that you can submit your EWS certificate at UP state NEET counselling even though you didn't upload it while applying for NEET. As per the AIQ parameters, EWS status is considered based on the certificate submitted at the time of registration, however, most state counselling authorities including UP state allows submitting/updating category certificates (e.g., EWS) at the time of counselling. Just make to sure that your EWS certificate is updated as per the prescribed rules and issued before the prescribed cut-off date mentioned in the counselling guidelines.
With 490 marks in NEET 2025 and SC category, you have a reasonable chance of getting a government MBBS seat under the 15% All India Quota (AIQ). Based on previous year trends, SC candidates with similar scores have secured seats in the following colleges:
Possible Government Medical Colleges under AIQ (SC Category):
Government Medical College, Alappuzha (Kerala)
Government Medical College, Ernakulam (Kerala)
Raiganj Government Medical College, West Bengal
Government Medical College, Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh)
Government Medical College, Baramati (Maharashtra)
Government Doon Medical College, Dehradun (Uttarakhand)
Government Medical College, Siddipet (Telangana)
Government Medical College, Pali (Rajasthan)
ESIC Medical College, Faridabad (Haryana)
NEIGRIHMS, Shillong (Meghalaya)
There are many more which you can look up. Above are the few popular ones.
Hello Aspirant
With 386 in NEET 2025, your chances of securing a seat at Jammu under the Hindu Minority quota are extremely slim.
With 386, unless there’s a dramatic drop in application volume or cutoff for 2025, it's highly unlikely you'll secure admissio n.
You will need 400+, more likely 420–450, to stand a reasonable chance.
Hello,
As per current rules in India, no private medical college conducts its own entrance exam for MBBS or BDS admissions. NEET-UG is compulsory for admission to all government, private, deemed, and central medical colleges in India.
So, there are no private medical colleges that give MBBS admission without NEET or through their own exam. NEET is the only valid entrance exam for MBBS and BDS courses.
Some private colleges may conduct separate exams for paramedical, nursing, or other health science courses , but not for MBBS/BDS.

To get admission into the BPT course (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) in government medical colleges in Maharashtra through NEET UG, you must score around 330 to 350 marks. This is the expected cutoff for general category students. Just passing NEET is not enough. The cutoffs are high because there are limited seats in government colleges.
For example, in colleges like Government Medical College Nagpur, students with NEET scores above 325 to 350 usually get admission.
If you belong to a reserved category like SC, ST, or OBC, the required marks may be slightly lower, but still close to that range.
Hi! So according to your rank that is 468 in NEET and All India Rank of 93,900 getting a government MBBS college in Tamil Nadu under BC category is very difficult. Usually the cutt offs go very high. You can try for private colleges but the fees will be higher.

Hello,
If you’re looking to get a seat in Khalsa College (Amritsar) for Veterinary Science through management quota. There are a few seats reserved under the management quota. These seats are usually filled at the college level and not through the centralized counselling. You will need to directly contact the college administration to inquire about availability, fees, and documents required. These seats are limited, and they are often offered on a merit basis based on your NEET score and academic background.
As you’ve scored 277 marks in NEET 2025, there’s a decent chance you could be considered for a management seat, especially if there aren’t too many higher-scoring candidates applying under this quota. Your score may not be enough for a government seat in veterinary, but for private or management quota, it can be considered.
Also, keep your documents ready like your NEET scorecard, 10th and 12th mark sheets, identity proof, and photos. You may also have to pay a higher fee under the management quota, so it’s best to confirm the exact amount from the college office.
If you want to know more about the college, seat intake,or fees, you can check this page: Khalsa college of veterinary and animal science,Amritsar -Careers 360
Thank you!
The NEET cutoff marks for Kashmiri Migrant quota in Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar have been lower than general category cutoffs in the past few years.
In 2022, the closing marks for Kashmiri Migrant quota at GMC Srinagar were around 370. In 2023 and 2024, the range remained similar, roughly between 340 and 380 marks. Students under this quota get some relaxation compared to the general category, where the cutoff is usually above 600 marks. So, if you are aiming for a seat under the Kashmiri Migrant quota in GMC Srinagar, try to score at least 380 marks or more in NEET to have a good chance.
