The National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professions (NCAHP) has deferred its earlier decision of making NEET UG examination compulsory for admission to Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) and Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) from the academic year 2026-27. In a recent notice, the authority has announced that NEET UG exam will not be mandatory for admission into BPT and BOT courses for 2026-27 session. From 2027-28 session onward, NEET UG will be compulsory for admission to BPT and BOT courses.
The authority has specifically on the request of NTA has decided not to make NEET 2026 compulsory for granting admission in BPT and BOT courses through NEET. NTA has specified that inclusion of these courses can increase the number of students in NEET 2026, potentially increasing the logistic problems. As per the NCAHP’s notice, admission to BPT and BOT will be through NEET exam from 2027 onwards. The process will be conducted by state, union territory or university. A general admission process for BPT and BOT seats can be checked below.
Step 1: Appear for the NEET UG examination
Candidates aspiring for admission to BPT and BOT courses must register and fill the NEET 2027 application form. NEET scores will be used for admission into these allied and healthcare programs in the country.
Step 2: Participate in the counselling process
Once the NEET UG result 2027 will be declared, candidates will need to participate in the counselling process. The counselling for admission to BPT and BOT courses will be conducted either by state authority or institutional authority. Admissions will be granted based on NEET marks, availability of seats, category-wise reservation and choices filled by candidates.
Step 3: Seat allotment and document verification
Candidates who will be granted seats during counselling will have to report to the allotted institute within the given timeline. Candidates have to complete the document verification and pay the prescribed admission fee to confirm their seat.

Hi! As per the NEET eligibility criteria , you must be 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission. As you will complete the age criteria, you can definitely appear for NEET 2027. Do check the other eligibility criteria and apply for the NEET 2027
The NEET qualifying cutoff for ST category was 143-113. For ST (PWD) , the cut off marks 2025 was 126-113. As you have not mentioned the closing rank for a particular college. Here, we have provided the college wise 2025 MBBS closing rank for ST category.
