The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa will conduct the counselling for 210 BAMS and BHMS seats under the 85% state quota seats in Goa state. The counselling will be conducted in an offline mode and the NEET UG scores will be considered for preparing the merit list.

Goa AYUSH counselling 2024 will be conducted in two rounds - 1st round, 2nd round, followed by a mop-up round. Goa State AYUSH counselling 2024 eligibility criteria

Only the aspirants who secured the cut-off marks and more in the NEET UG will be eligible for Goa state AYUSH counselling 2024. Other basic eligibility criteria are as follows -

Aspirants should be Indian nationals fulfilling the eligibility criteria under various categories. Non-resident Indians holding Indian passports may apply for seats reserved under the NRI category. Overseas citizens of India (OCI) /Persons of Indian origin (PIO) cardholders are considered eligible for admission to seats under the NRI category
An applicant must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination of the Goa Board or an examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, or any other examination, which in scope and standard, is deemed to be equivalent to the H.S.S.C. examination of Goa Board
Aspirants should have scored a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (40% marks for reserved category students)
The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years as on 31st December 2024. Further, there is no upper age limit.

How to fill application form for Goa AYUSH counselling 2024

Goa AYUSH counselling 2024 will be conducted in offline mode and will consist of five rounds. The authority will release the information brochure on its official website. This information brochure will include an application form (A/B) for admission to all the courses mentioned in this prospectus,(depending on the courses opted).

For the AYUSH course, aspirants will have to fill out “Form A” along with an application fee of Rs.2,000 and send it to the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Goa. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for Goa AYUSH counselling 2024.

Enter the NEET UG 2024 roll number and affix a recent coloured passport-size photograph in the provided space.
Select the category of candidate.
Enter the name of the aspirant along with gender and contact number.
Enter the candidate's Aadhar card number.
Fill all the details of 10 + 2 standard along with the marks in each subject.
Enter the NEET 2024 details of the candidate. These details are NEET 2024 roll number, candidate’s NEET 2024 all India rank, candidate’s NEET 2024 score.
Fill the “declaration form” carefully and mention all the details asked in the declaration form such as Date of filling application form, address, mobile number. After that, sign the declaration form.
Fill the declaration form provided for the aspirant’s parents/ guardians and get it duly signed by the parent/ guardian.
Attach the xerox copies of listed documents in the application form and mark them as checked on the table provided.

Note: Aspirants will have to fill out the acknowledgement card provided in the official brochure. This acknowledgement card must be produced at the time of submission of application form “A” and during admission rounds.

Goa AYUSH merit list 2024

The Goa AYUSH merit list for admission to the BAMS and BHMS courses shall be prepared based on the aspirant’s NEET UG-2024 AIR (All India Rank), NEET percentile and NEET 2024 scorecard. Merit lists will be displayed at the admission centre at the DTE, Porvorim, Goa and on the website as per the schedule given in the prospectus.

Goa AYUSH 2024 merit list will include the name of the candidate, All India rank, NEET 2024 score. Aspirants whose names appear on the merit list will have to sit for the counselling rounds. During the counselling process, aspirants must provide their preference for courses, and colleges' preference.

Goa AYUSH counselling 2024 process

Once the Goa AYUSH counselling registration process is completed, the authority will release the dates for the Goa AYUSH counselling 2024. Candidates will be able to select courses and colleges as per their preference. A merit list will be generated based on the NEET UG scores. Only the aspirants fulfilling the eligibility criteria and securing the minimum cut-off will be able to participate in the online counselling. Five rounds of counselling will be conducted and if any seat remains unfilled, a mop-up round and stray round will be conducted.

Aspirants who are allotted a seat will have to appear for document verification and pay the requisite fee. Upon successful payment of the fee, students will be granted admission to their choice of institute.

Is Neet UG the only way to go for MBBS ?

In India, the most common entrance exam to get into medical colleges offering MBBS and BDS courses is NEET UG- National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate. However there are a few extra options and considerations:

Entrance exams at State Level: Some states conduct medical admission exams at the state level, but most of those also accept NEET. Therefore, one needs to check the specific requirement of each state.
Management Quota Seats: To some extent, all private medical colleges admit students under the management quota where admissions are done based on different criteria followed under that quota. Donations or capitation fees prevail in a lot of places, but this year, even NEET scores would play a role.
Foreign Medical Universities: If you are willing to study overseas, some countries offer MBBS programmes without requiring NEET. But it depends upon the recognition of that degree in India and if you meet the required criteria for the same in India, after your graduation.
Other Courses: If you would like to have a career in health but not specifically an MBBS, then you can join BDS (Dentistry), BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), BPT (Physiotherapy), or any one of the nursing streams, each of which has its own entrance exams.
Professional Paths: Lateral entry or bridge courses are allowed to pursue a medical degree after completion of an undergraduate-related program in some countries or institutes.

Overall, NEET UG is the most common and widely recognized path for pursuing MBBS in India. Alternately, one may look into the other options depending upon the goal and flexibility of individuals.

Yes, NEET will accept your two marksheets. The National Testing Agency, who conduct NEET allows you to utilize the improvement marks from the open boards like NIOS. As you passed your 12th PCB aggregate in the year 2024 from the NIOS On-Demand Examination you can combine both, the marks of year 2022 under the Maharashtra Board as well as the marks of year 2024 under the NIOS.

So, take a care to note that on both your marksheets - the Maharashtra Board and NIOS, your qualification in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology should be reflected. You will require minimum 50% marks in PCB for the general category. For reserved categories, the marks must be at least 40%. Both the marksheets would be required at NEET counseling. Better to clarify with the authorities if any specific regional rules would apply at the time of counseling.

Yes, certain universities allow admission to BAMS programs (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) without the need for a qualifying NEET score. Some universities admit students directly to BAMS programs without taking NEET results into account. Students are usually admitted to these colleges through the management quota, which is determined by how well they pass on the class 12 board exams.
You must have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as required topics on your class 12 board exams in order to be eligible for such admissions. You also need to have received at least 50% in these disciplines (with an additional 10% relaxation for applicants in the reserved category).
