The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2025 will be held on May 4, 2025 for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses across India. Each year, lakhs of aspirants appear for NEET. However, there are specific reservation policies for candidates belonging to certain categories. One of them is Persons with Disabilities (PwD). To ensure fair and transparency, the government has set NEET 2025 PwD guidelines for candidates to secure seats in medical colleges.

Candidates with disabilities are eligible to get a reservation of 5% of the total available seats. Candidates who want to avail 5% PwD reservation must submit the PwD certificate for NEET 2025 issued by the designated disability centres. Along with other benefits, PwD candidates of NEET 2025 receive concessions in NEET form fees, relaxation in eligibility criteria, admission reservation and others. PwBD candidates must have obtained a minimum mark of 40% in the qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

As per the NMC guidelines, NEET 2025 PwD candidates will be given a total of 5% of the total seats in each of general, general-EWS, OBC, SC,and ST category seats under horizontal reservation. As per the PwBD act 2016, persons must have not less than 40% disability to avail the PwD reservation in NEET.
Candidates who want to submit the disability certificate for NEET 2025 must have the PwD certificate issued by the relevant authority. To obtain the PwBD certificate, the eligible candidates must download the disability certificate provided in the NEET 2025 information bulletin. The disabilities include blindness, low vision, locomotor disability, hearing impairment and intellectual disabilities. The eligible candidates need to mention the nature of disability in the NEET form. Along with this, candidates need to submit the letter of undertaking for using scribe in the NEET exam.
Candidates need to visit the designated centres for PwD certificate. The doctors at the centre assess the disability percentage and issue the PwBD certificate as per the disability. After collecting the PwD certificate, aspirants must upload the scanned copy of the PwBD certificate in the required format while filling the NEET application form 2025.
Candidates with benchmark disabilities must go through the guidelines set by the government. The NEET 2025 PwD guidelines are mentioned below.
Extra time to PwD candidates: The NTA NEET UG is conducted for a time duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. However, the NTA provides NEET 2025 PwD candidates extra time of 1 hour and 5 minutes in the entrance exam. Candidates who produce the disability certificate will be offered the facility.
Facility of scribe to NEET PwD candidates: PwBD aspirants with a physical limitation will be provided the facility of scribe to write the exam on his or her behalf. It includes visually impaired, disability in the upper limbs, lost fingers,hands which prevents them from properly attempting the NEET question paper. However, it depends on the candidate whether he or she wants to get the facility of scribe or not.
NEET 2025 PwD reservation: The authority has provided NEET 2025 PwD category reservation policy to the eligible candidates. A total of 5% seats in each of general, general-EWS, OBC, SC,and ST category seats under horizontal reservation. It is important for PwD aspirants to apply under the same category during the application process.
NEET 2025 PwD disability certificate: PwD candidates need to visit the list of designated PwD centres for the purpose of getting PwBD certificates. The medical board appointed by the government assesses the disability percentage of candidates and issues certificates. After the announcement of results, the PwD candidates along with the certificate have to appear before the Disability Assessment Board to determine whether they can participate in the NEET counselling.

This kind of name order difference between your Class 10 marksheet and Aadhaar is quite common and usually does not cause serious issues for NEET 2026 . While filling the NEET form, always enter your name exactly as it appears on the Class 10 marksheet, since it is the main reference document. During counselling, if asked, you can explain the difference and keep a simple affidavit or supporting ID ready to confirm both names belong to you.
