NEET Physics Questions With Solutions

Question 1: A projectile is given an initial velocity of $(\hat{i}+2\hat{j})\mathrm{m}/\mathrm{s}$ , where î is along the ground and ĵ is along the vertical. If g = 10m/s² , the equation of its trajectory is :

Solution:

Given :

$$\overrightarrow{u}=\hat{i}+2\hat{j}$$

From equation of motion,

$$\overrightarrow{s}=\overrightarrow{u}t+\frac{1}{2}a{t}^2$$

$$\Rightarrow {\overrightarrow{r}}_f-{\overrightarrow{r}}_i=(\hat{i}+2\hat{j})t+\frac{1}{2}(-g\hat{j})t^2$$

$$\Rightarrow {\overrightarrow{r}}_f-0=t\hat{i}+2t\hat{j}-\frac{g}{2}{t}^2\hat{j}$$

$$\Rightarrow x\hat{i}+y\hat{j}=t\hat{i}+(2t-\frac{g}{2}{t}^2)\hat{j}$$

After comparing both sides, we get,

$$x=t\text{and}y=(2t-5t^2)$$

Now, put the value of $t$ in $y=(2t-5t^2)$

$$y=2x-5x^2$$

Note : the above question is solved by basic method of kinematical equation motion but you can also solve this question by equation of trajectory of projectile motion.
Hint for alternate method :

$$y=x\tan \theta (1-\frac{x}{R})$$

OR,

$$y=x\tan \theta -\frac{1}{2}\cdot \frac{x^{2}g}{v^2{\cos }^2\theta }$$

Question 2: A particle of mass 10 g is kept on the surface of a uniform sphere of mass 100 Kg and radius 10 cm. Find the work to be done against the gravitational force between them to take the particle far away from the sphere. (You might take G = 6.67 X 10^-11 Nm²/kg²)

$$W=\frac{(6.67\times {10}^{-11})\times 100\times (10\times {10}^{-3})}{10\times {10}^{-2}}$$

Question 1: pH of a saturated solution of Ca(OH)₂ is 9. The solubility product (K_sp) of Ca(OH)₂ is:

$$\mathrm{Ca}(\mathrm{OH}{)}_2\rightleftharpoons {\mathrm{Ca}}^{2+}+2{\mathrm{OH}}^{-}$$

Given pH = 9

So,

$$pH+pOH=14$$
$$\Rightarrow pOH=14-9=5$$
$$\Rightarrow -\log [{\text{OH}}^{-}]=5$$
$$\Rightarrow [{\text{OH}}^{-}]={10}^{-5}$$

So, $$[{\mathrm{Ca}}^{2+}]=\frac{[{\mathrm{OH}}^{-}]}{2}=\frac{{10}^{-5}}{2}=5\times {10}^{-6}$$ $$K_{\mathrm{sp}}=[{\mathrm{Ca}}^{2+}]\times [{\mathrm{OH}}^{-}{]}^2=(5\times {10}^{-6})\times ({10}^{-5}{)}^2=5\times {10}^{-16}$$ And Ksp will be $$K_{sp}=[{\mathrm{Ca}}^{2+}][{\mathrm{OH}}^{-}{]}^2$$ $$K_{sp}=\frac{{10}^{-5}}{2}\times ({10}^{-5}{)}^2$$ $$K_{sp}=0.5\times {10}^{-15}{\mathrm{mol}}^3/{\mathrm{L}}^3$$
