As per the NEET 2026 new rules by NTA, candidates have to upload a live photograph in the NEET 2026 application form. The NEET live photograph feature has been introduced to ensure authenticity and prevent impersonation. The NEET live photo upload is to be taken in real-time from the device’s camera and is then directly uploaded to the system. In the application form, candidates have to upload the NEET 2026 live photograph. The NEET live photo upload guidelines are mentioned below.
Candidates must ensure that their background is light colored with proper lighting.
80% of the face (including ears) should be visible. Candidates should not wear a mask while NEET live photo capture.
Candidates can wear glasses while NEET live photo capture (if they wear it permanently).

Many candidates are facing NEET live photo upload problems while filling the NEET application form. The common NEET live photo problems have been mentioned below.
NEET live photo not meeting specifications
It may be that the NEET live photo capture does not meet the specifications laid down by the authority. Either the background color is dark, or the face is not fully visible. In such cases, candidates will need to capture the NEET live photograph again and upload it. The system will display a message as shown in the image below.

NEET live photo not uploading: Mismatch with Aadhaar
If the NEET live photo as captured in the real time is not matching with the candidate’s Aadhaar, it will not be accepted by the system. The system will ask for a fresh NEET live photo upload and will display the message as shown in the image below.

NEET live photo problem: Internet connection or inaccessible camera
One of the problems that arise while NEET live photo uploading is an inaccessible camera. Candidates are advised to fill the NEET 2026 application form through a device which has an inbuilt camera for smooth process. The other problem while NEET live photo not uploading is the slow internet connection. Candidates must ensure that their internet speed is good enough to upload a NEET live photo and verify it through the Aadhaar.
As it is mandatory to capture a NEET live photograph while filling the application form, candidates must ensure that their system supports the webcam. In case, the system does not support the webcam, candidates have to follow the instructions mentioned below for NEET live photo capture.
Go to the NEET 2026 official website.
Login to fill the NEET application form.
Click on ‘Capture Live Photograph.
Scan the QR code provided on the right side of the application form using a mobile or tablet.
A link is generated.
Click on the link. It is redirected to the NEE official website.
Take a NEET live photo, click on ‘OK’ to submit.
The NEET live photo capture is done and uploaded successfully.
Check the NEET live photo upload by logging in to the system again.
NEET live photo uploaded date is displayed on the screen as shown in the image below.
