DMET Odisha - Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET) Odisha, has been established as head of the department in 1975. DMET, Odisha is headquartered in Bhubaneswar. Medical admission in the affiliated institutes of DMET Odisha will be granted only on the basis of medical entrance test conducted at the national level by the competent authorities. In order to take medical admission, aspirants who are satisfying the eligibility criteria are required to fill the application form within the stipulated dates specified by the DMET. The merit list for granting medical admission will be released by DMET in online mode at its official website. The score that aspirants have scored in the entrance exam and filling the application form will be the basis to be included in the provisional merit list. Aspirants are then required to get the documents verified as after this process, authorities will release the final merit list.
The final merit list for medical UG admission will display details like the candidate’s name, domicile, category, NEET and state merit rank. However, the merit list for medical PG admission mentions the name of candidates, date of birth, category, NEET PG/MDS details, All India Rank(AIR). Only those whose names are included in the state merit list will be called for participation in the counselling process.
DMET Odisha is the competent authority to release the cutoff for both UG and PG medical admission in the state. DMET will release the NEET 2024 cutoff Odisha for only qualified aspirants. In order to take admission, the cutoff comprises the last rank and the equivalent scores obtained by the aspirants in the entrance exam, on the basis of which admission will be granted.

The counselling for granting medical and dental admission offers in the affiliated institutes of the state for both UG and PG degrees will be conducted by DMET Odisha. The mode of the conduction of both UG and PG counselling will be online. Only aspirants whose name will be included in the merit list can participate in the counselling process. DMET will conduct the counselling in three rounds which includes first, second and mop-up rounds.
Candidates are required to register and then log in by using their credentials to their applicant portals to take part in the process of counselling. After login students are required to make their choices of courses and colleges according to their preferences and as per their category and ranks. On the basis of choices filled, availability of seats, state merit rank, and other determining factors, medical admissions will be granted by authorities.
