Candidates who want to appear for the Odisha MBBS must first clear the NEET entrance exam to be eligible for admission into government and private medical colleges across Odisha. It is mandatory for candidates to register themselves for the medical entrance exam for the counselling and seat allotment procedure of Odisha MBBS admission 2017.

In the Odisha MBBS 2017 application form, candidates are required to fill their details such as their name, father’s name, Date of Birth (DOB) and academic-related information. Candidates without prior registration for the Odisha MBBS admission 2017 will not be allowed to participate in the counselling process. To complete the Odisha MBBS application form 2017 procedure, candidates will have to make a fee payment of Rs. 1000 as the counselling fees.

Odisha MBBS Eligibility Criteria 2017


Before commencing the Odisha MBBS application form 2017, candidates should go through the eligibility criteria of Odisha MBBS 2017 to verify whether they are eligible to take the exam or not. Below candidates can go through the eligibility criteria:

  • If a candidate is applying under state quota should be a registered permanent resident of Odisha

  • Applicants should be above the age of 17 years as on December 31, 2017 

  • Candidates must obtain at least 50% under General Category for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in Class 12 while reserved category candidates should obtain minimum 40%

  • Only those candidates who clear the NEET exam and clear the document verification process after the NEET 2017 Merit List for Odisha is published will be invited for counselling

How to fill Odisha MBBS 2017 application form


Step 1: Registration


Candidates can begin with the Odisha MBBS application form by registering for the medical entrance exam. When registering, candidates are required to fill certain details such as Name, Date of Birth (DOB), Email ID, phone number and password among others. Once the registration step is complete, candidates will receive a generated application/registration number. The registration number will then be used as their User ID and thus candidates will have to create their own password.


Step 2: Fill Application


In this step candidates will have to fill the Odisha MBBS application form 2017 with all the details mentioned there. Details such as Personal details including course details, education qualification and contact information. Any error after filling the Odisha MBBS 2017 application form may lead to ineligibility for admission into various medical and BDS institutes across Odisha. Therefore, candidates should fill the application form carefully and verify the same after filling. 


Step 3: Upload Documents


Here candidates have to upload all the requisite documents, however, to do so candidates should scan the documents and then proceed with uploading.


Documents to be uploaded:

  • Latest passport size images (10kb-30kb)

  • Left thumb impression (10kb-30kb)

  • Signature (10kb-30kb)

All the above documents are supposed to be uploaded in JPEG format. No other format will be entertained.


Step 4: Submit


The final step is to make the submission of all the documents and application form of Odisha MBBS 2017 by July 17, 5 pm. Candidates will have to accept a declaration at the end pertaining to the authenticity of all the information and documents submitted are valid and up to date. The Odisha MBBS application form 2017 should be complete in all manners as any unfilled information found will not be considered for admission.


Post these candidates are redirected to the confirmation page, after which candidates can take a printout of the confirmation for the remaining admission process.


Step 5: Fee Payment


Candidate who have finished their registration will have to pay the counselling fee of Rs. 1000/- by online mode  (using debit card/credit card/net banking) through the same registration portal or by using SBI challan (which can be printed inside candidate's login) and by depositing the amount at any SBI branch. This step will be mandatory before candidates proceed for the final admission process - document verification at the various nodal centres. The payment proof will have to be submitted at the nodal centre.


List of Registered Candidates


The final list of candidates who successfully registered for Odisha MBBS BDS 2017 will be published by the Directorate of Medical and Education Training, Odisha, on July 17. These candidates will have to report for document verification at the various nodal centres which would have been allotted to them rank-wise.

Reporting for document verification 


Candidates should ensure they take a printout of the online registration form and carry it with them at the time of reporting for document verification. They will also have to carry with them the original copies of the specified documents and submit one copy of each. The following documents will have to be compulsorily carried by candidates:

  • NEET Rank Card

  • Odisha MBBS BDS 2017 Application Form Printout

  • Class 10 Certificate and Mark Sheet
  • Class 12 Certificate and Mark Sheet
  • College/School Leaving Certificate
  • Nativitity/Resident Certificate of Odisha
  • Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe certificate (if applicable)

You need to score more than 500 marks in NEET to get government colleges through your state quota and around 400-450 marks to get private colleges.

Chances are not good to get into these colleges for medical courses. Also you can try in paramedical courses.
Based on your score, you have less chances overall.

The chances are less for 15% quota seats but you have decent chances for 85% quota seats in Gov. Colleges.
