After the results are declared, counselling session is kept. First is All India counselling and next is state counselling scheduled by every state. Students are called in different colleges according to the ranks they have scored. Seat is allotted according to the ranks obtained in NEET and cutoffs declared by medical colleges. First the students need to apply for All India NEET counselling. There are 15% seats available in all India NEET counselling, if a student can get a seat in all India counselling, then they do not have to go for state counselling.
State counselling sessions such as Uttar Pradesh NEET counselling, have 85% of seats which need to be allotted. In Uttar Pradesh, there are almost 6400 seats available for MBBS.
Once the students get seats in a particular college, they need to complete all the further formalities from the college’s end.
