How many hours NEET toppers study?

NEET toppers' study hours can vary based on individual preferences, learning styles, and existing levels of preparation. However, most NEET toppers adopt a balanced and focused study routine rather than just counting hours. It's not solely about the number of hours but the quality of study time that matters. According to NEET 2024 topper AIR 1 Taijas Singh, 'dedicating most of the time to study in the last month of NEET preparation is important to succeed'. NEET 2024 topper Mridul Manya Ananad (AIR 1) tells that while studying at Aakash institute they use to have test everyday in the same pattern as NEET question paper. NEET 2025: How do toppers prepare for the exam?

Candidates seeking effective NEET preparation tips can read some below-listed strategies from previous years' NEET toppers.

NEET topper study routine: Make a feasible timetable

Making a systematic timetable for NEET 2025 preparation is one of the key tips given by most of the toppers. The proper NEET 2025 study time table helps the candidates in boosting their preparation. To emerge with flying colours in NEET 2025, candidates must know what, when and how to study. Thus, making a comprehensive and able-to-do timetable is a must for NEET 2025 preparations.

When asked about the NEET preparation strategy, NEET 2024 toper Aditya Kumar Panda (AIR 1) said, 'No there was no such fixed study schedule or time distribution to a particular subject. Whatever subject I used to feel I was weak, I used to study that subject. But yes overall, I used to study from 6 AM to 12 PM daily'. Another NEET topper 2024 Palansha Agarwal (AIR 1) stated that, 'I used to wake up at 3:30 and study up till 6:30. Then I used to go to school and return to school by 3 PM. Then from 4 PM to 9 PM, I used to study with regular small break intervals.'

NEET toppers study strategy: Self-study is important

Self-study plays an important role in the success of NEET toppers, as it allows for personalized learning, deep focus and better time management. Toppers often emphasize the importance of self-study because it gives them the flexibility to revise difficult concepts at their own pace, rather than relying solely on external coaching. As per one of the NEET 2024 toppers, ' just one month before the NEET exam, I devoted 10 to 12 hours daily to prepare for NEET 2024. I used to take one NEET mock test daily which helped me feel better on the exam day.' As per NEET 2024 topper Prachita, 'Apart from coaching, I used to dedicate 5-6 hours to self-study, however, the hours varied on the topic. I never emphasised the number of hours I needed to study but to understand the concepts properly.'

Another NEET 2024 topper, Shruti Agarwal from Allen Kota says, 'I use to do self-study for around 4 to 6 hours daily after attempting online classes through Allen Digital'. Tanishka, another NEET 2024 topper from Allen Institute said, 'self-study is very important. When I use to have classes, I use to study for at least 5 to 6 hours a day.'

NEET preparation tips by toppers: Revision is a must

NEET toppers consistently highlight the importance of regular revision for NEET as a crucial part of their preparation strategy. With the extensive NEET syllabus, continuous revision helps solidify concepts, formulas and important facts, ensuring they remain fresh in memory. When asked about the importance of revision, NEET topper 2024 Mridul Manya Ananad (AIR 1) from Aakash Institute said, ' I focused on the revision after my board ended. So, if I study NCERT in the evening, the next day I use to solve 20 questions. This way, I was able to revise the concepts properly. Overall, my revision strategy in Aakash was very regressive.' Shruti Agarwal, a NEET 2024 topper from Allen Institute emphasizes that on doing revision. She added, 'Before exam, solving one test paper daily was a part of my revision strategy'.

NEET topper study routine: Study from quality material

NEET toppers emphasize the importance of studying from quality material as a cornerstone of their preparation routine. They often select NCERT textbooks for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry, which are highly recommended for conceptual clarity. When asked about the study material for the medical entrance exam preparation, NEET 2023 topper Parth Khandelwal (AIR 10) said, 'NCERT is the best book to prepare for the NEET exam. Aspirants should give equal focus to Physics and Chemistry NCERT along with the Biology preparations. As per NEET topper 2024 Aditya Kumar Panda, 'NCERT books are undoubtedly the best source for your NEET preparation. Along with the NCERT books, as I was enrolled in the Aakash Institute, I studied from the study material they provided. Apart from that, I used to solve questions from various other sources.' A topper from Allen Institute said, 'I studied from the material provided from my coaching. It helped me to prepare for NEET in an efficient manner'.

Thus, conceptual clarity is more important to solve the tricky multiple-choice questions (MCQs) asked in the NEET 2025. Allocating proper time to all three subjects asked in NEET 2025 which as NEET Physics, Chemistry and Biology will help in making the concepts clear and strong.

NEET preparation tips by toppers: Practice the previous year question paper and mock tests

One of the most effective NEET preparation tips shared by toppers is to regularly practice previous year's question papers and mock tests. Solving NEET mock test helps students familiarize themselves with the exam pattern, question types and the level of difficulty they can expect in the actual exam. As per one of the NEET 2024 topper's, ' I used to take one NEET mock test daily which helped me feel better on the exam day.' Prachita, NEET 2024 topper said, 'solving NEET test series is very important as it allows to identify mistakes and learn time management.'

Thus, solving previous years question papers and mock tests helps in evaluating the preparation levels of the candidates familiarised with the NEET 2025 exam pattern. Candidates are advised to practice completing the mock tests before time to develop a proper time-management strategy.

NEET topper study routine: Stay calm while attempting the paper

Panic is natural for candidates about to attempt the undergraduate medical exam but the truth is fear only lowers the confidence. One must find ways to relax their mind while preparing for the NEET 2025 exam.

Taijas Singh, NEET 2024 topper (AIR 1) says, 'My exam day strategy is to keep calm and not let the exam stress take over my brain.' Another NEET 2024 topper Divyansh said, 'as I had health issues, I advised myself to relax and reminded myself that if due to panic, I forget everything in the last three days, I am not going to be a doctor. I played football to unwind.'

Therefore, NEET toppers attribute their success to a combination of strategic planning, disciplined execution and smart study techniques. Key tips such as consistent self-study, focused revision, practicing previous years' papers and relying on quality study material form the foundation of their preparation. By following these proven methods and maintaining a structured approach, aspirants can significantly enhance their chances of excelling in NEET and securing top ranks.

Hello

With 429 marks in NEET 2025, it is very highly unlikely to get a BAMS seat in National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA) as the cutoff for the same is much higher, around 600 marks for general category and around 550 marks for the reserved category.

Thank You!!!

Hello.

As you have mentioned that your neet score is 429 marks but you haven't mentioned your category. Nevertheless, i am assuming to be in general category. So, if we look over previous year's cutoff trend for BAMS and BHMS then the cutoff for BAMS was 450 to 500+ marks and for BHMS it was 450+ marks even more than that.

So maybe you can get private seat.i recommend you to go for state quota counselling to get government bams college.

Hope it helps

Haryana NEET UG Round 2 counselling for 2025 is expected to begin in early September.DMER Haryana will release the official schedule on its website, dmer.haryana.gov.in, once the revised dates are finalized you will see dates there.

The exact dates are still pending because the original schedule was postponed to accommodate changes AIQ counselling process, including an extended period for candidates to resign their Round 1 seats.

All the best!!

Hello

No, without the NEET exam admission to most courses like MBBS/BDS/BHMS/BAMS etc is not possible as even private colleges have the basic criteria of having to appear for NEET to get admission into their college.

So you will need to give NEET for the same.

Thank You!!!

Hello Nandini

With 2,68,000 rank in NEET 2025, getting a Government BAMS seat at either Sanjeveni College Hubli or Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya Hubli is highly unlikely for the unreserved category, but possible for reserved category (mainly SC/ST) based on previous year cutoffs.

Thank You!!!
