Candidates wishing to take admission in Maharashtra PG medical 2025 must fulfill the eligibility criteria. Aspirants must check the eligibility criteria given below.
Candidates should be Indian citizens. A Nationality certificate of the same shall be issued by the District Magistrate or additional District Magistrate or Chief Metropolitan Magistrate or valid Passport or School Leaving Certificate of HSC/12th Std. indicating the nationality of the candidate as “Indian” shall constitute the proof of nationality
NRIs are not eligible except for 15% NRI quota seats in unaided private/ minority medical colleges.
Candidates who are resident of Maharashtra and have obtained admission under 15% All India Quota/AIIMS/Central Government Institutions for MBBS course in the medical college situated outside Maharashtra as well as those who have obtained the degree from a University situated outside the State of Maharashtra will also be eligible for Maharashtra PG medical admission 2025. These candidates have to submit a certificate from the Dean of the respective medical college and a certificate of Maharashtra State by virtue of residence.
Candidates must have an MBBS pass certificate from a college recognised by the Medical Council of India (MCI)only from the state of Maharashtra.
Candidates must have completed their compulsory rotatory internship on or before August 11, 2025.
Candidates must be medically fit.
Candidates must secure NEET PG cutoff to be eligible for the entrance examination. Candidates can refer to the category-wise NEET percentile for Maharashtra PG medical admission 2025 given below.

Candidates filling the Maharashtra PG medical application form 2025 within the given time period are eligible for 50% state quota seats. After the submission of the Maharashtra PG medical application form 2025, the registered aspirants are required to report at the nodal centre to get their documents verified. After submission of the Maharashtra PG medical 2025 application form, candidates have to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs. 3000 in online mode through the payment gateway provided. Candidates should take printout of receipt of online fee payment for future use.
The authorities release the Maharashtra PG medical merit list in the form of PDF. The Maharashtra PG medical 2025 merit list is prepared based on the NEET PG 2025 scores, seat availability, reservation, and other factors. In the merit list name of the candidates, All India rank, state merit rank, NEET PG scores, and testing IDs are mentioned. Candidates included in the merit list are called for the counselling process.

With an All India rank of around 82,471 and UP state rank around 4,633 , your chances for MS Surgery in government colleges are very low. You may get a seat in private or deemed colleges , mainly in UP. Chances in other states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Tamil Nadu are lower due to domicile rules and local quota preference.
Choice filling strategy:
Top: Private/deemed colleges in UP for Surgery.
Backup: Other clinical branches (Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology) in private/deemed colleges.
Safe: Non-clinical or less competitive branches in private/deemed colleges.
